Season Three, Episode One, On Guard
Original Air Date: June 15, 2011

Peter is convinced Neal had something to do with the explosion at the warehouse and the theft of the art even though Neal maintains his innocence. Mozzie admits to Neal how he managed to take the art and he and Neal plan their getaway. Meanwhile, Peter and Neal work on a new case where a man believed to have stolen $60 million from the Federal Reserve wants one of Neal's old aliases to help him smuggle the money out of the country.

Neal, Mozzie and David Lawrence (Neil Jackson) are boarding a small plane as the FBI closes in on them. Mozzie starts the plane and begins to take off and warns they won't make it but Neal tells him they must.

Four days earlier, Jones gives Neal a polygraph test as Peter wants to know the truth about whether Neal stole Adler's Nazi treasure from the warehouse. Neal passes the questions but Peter intends to keep him there until he's satisfied. Neal later goes to see Sara and tells her Peter might ask her some questions about the art. She asks if he took the art and he tells her he didn't. As he's leaving, she asks if the art is out there if he knows who has it and he doesn't answer.

Neal arrives home to find Mozzie sitting on his balcony. He takes the card from his pocket and asks Mozzie about it. Mozzie admits how he managed to get the art and blow up the warehouse. They got their white whale and the two toast to their best, and final, score.

Peter still doesn't trust Neal. At the office, Peter asks Neal about Gary Rydell, one of Neal's old aliases. Peter tells Neal of David Lawrence who was suspected of stealing $60 million from the Federal Reserve and they think he left the money behind when he fled the country before they could arrest him. A couple of days ago, they traced an email sent by Lawrence wanting Rydell to help him smuggle the money out of the country.

Neal tells Mozzie Peter knows something but Mozzie maintains Peter is just messing with Neal's head as that's what "suits do". Neal asks Mozzie if there's anything from the heist that can be tied back to him and Mozzie tells him he used the art from the studio where Neal kept his paintings. Neal isn't pleased about what he's being told but Mozzie insists nothing could have, or should have, survived the fire.

At home, Peter looks at the piece of burned painting found at the warehouse. Elle says there are a lot of paintings of the Chrysler Building and it could have been on the sub. Peter insists if Neal didn't steal the art himself it was Mozzie or Alex. She suggests to have the piece tested and if it isn't from the 1930's he'll know. He can't involve the Bureau yet without jeopardizing both Neal and himself and she offers to call in a favor with an old friend at the museum where she worked.

Neal's anklet is removed so he can meet Lawrence at a fencing club. The two men fence and Lawrence severs Neal's tie. As they fence, they talk about what Lawrence wants. He wants Neal to get the money out of the country for him as Peter said. At the office, Neal says he will take the money out by boat. Peter takes Neal's severed tie from the trash wanting to keep it as a souvenir.

Neal and Mozzie continue to make their plans at Neal's apartment. Mozzie has gotten their getaway plane. Neal is worried about Peter thinking he's got a card he hasn't played yet and Mozzie asks what the best way to find out what Peter knows is. Neal goes to see Elizabeth and the two have a talk over coffee. She closes the book of art she and Peter were looking at with the Art Deco Chrysler Building painting in it earlier and covers it. When she goes to get some milk for Neal's coffee he takes a photo of the book cover from the underside of the glass table it is on. At his apartment, Neal sees the picture of the Chrysler Building and remembers the painting he was working on and asks Mozzie if he put it on the sub, which he did. They work out that Peter doesn't want the FBI involved in testing the painting and that Elizabeth could possibly be involved in having it tested.

Neal and Lawrence meet and Neal lays out the plan he has prepared to get Lawrence and his money out of the country safely. Peter goes over the plans with Neal at the office and mentions he heard he talked to Elle. Neal tells him whatever he thinks he's done, they are on the same team. Mozzie calls Neal to tell him Elizabeth is talking to her old boss at the gallery. He sees that a scrap of Neal's painting didn't burn and she gave it to her boss for testing. Neal wants them to run the tests and they will swap it out. The two make plans to create an authentic painting.

Later, Mozzie arrives at Neal's apartment to find him painting another picture of the Chrysler Building in case Peter comes around looking. Mozzie gives Neal the details of when the burned painting sample will be tested. They decide to use June's granddaughter to help them get in to make the switch. Once Neal gets past security and inside, June's granddaughter and Mozzie leave and Neal gets to work creating the replacement for the burned painting piece. Peter calls and talks to Neal while he's working on the painting to tell him Jones will be at his place in 20 minutes.

Mozzie arrives to Neal's to talk to him and Neal assures him he can slip Jones again once they are finished with Lawrence. Neal wants to say something to June but Mozzie reminds him of their rule: no goodbyes. He will miss June as well, he'll miss all of it just as Neal will. Mozzie leaves and Neal takes one last look around his apartment and throws his FBI ID onto the table and leaves.

Neal leaves for the meeting with Lawrence with Jones following and Peter on his way to the harbor. Lawrence takes Neal to where the money is. It is secreted in the air ducts at the fencing club. He reverses the ducts and the money blows into the room where they are standing. Lawrence's men collect the money and get it packaged for transport. One of them spots Jones and he is brought into the club. Lawrence holds a gun on him and Neal questions Jones. Lawrence hits Jones and tells Neal the plan is blown. He orders one of his men to kill Jones. Neal tells Lawrence Jones is leverage alive and he has a backup plan: a plane. Neal calls Mozzie who isn't happy the plans have been changed. Mozzie calls a nervous Peter to pass on the message from Neal about the change in plans.

Neal, Mozzie, Lawrence and Jones board the plane as Peter and the team close in. Jones gets free and overtakes Lawrence and Mozzie stops the plane. Lawrence is arrested and the authorities start taking possession of the boxes of money. Peter congratulates Neal on a job well done and gives him back his anklet.

At home, Elizabeth gives Peter the results of the painting authentication showing it was from the 1930's. Peter goes to see Neal and looks through some paintings and finds the new Chrysler Building Neal had painted. Neal gives the painting to Peter who calls a truce as he might have rushed to judgment. Peter's phone rings and he tells Neal he has to go. As he's leaving, Neal tells him the door's open anytime. At the office, Diane tells Peter they found a part of the original German U-boat manifest and they can make out 22 of the paintings on board. Only two people on the evidence recovery team, she and Jones know about the list, something Peter wants kept that way. At Neal's Mozzie says they must sell something to fund their second escape. Peter knows with the list, if a single painting on it shows up, they have whoever stole the art. Mozzie asks Neal what they should sell first.

Jimmy and Tammy are going ahead with their plans to get married and Nina rallies the Proudman family together to be supportive of Jimmy. However, things don't go exactly as planned and Jimmy receives some distressing news. Billie, Mick and Andrew go forward with their plans.

Nina is elected to call Jimmy. She leaves a message for him saying they want to work things out and asking him not to cut the family off. Mick doesn't want to get involved in the situation with Jimmy, something Geraldine and Billie doesn't understand.

Nina enters a room of the hospital to find Patrick holding a towel to his bleeding face. As she is tending to his injury, she asks how he got it and when he doesn't answer asks if it has something to do with his sister's situation. They bicker lightly about their personality traits.

The Proudman family and Cherie have dinner to discuss how they can reach out to Jimmy. Billie suggests saying Ray has been calling out for him every night even though Ray can't say Jimmy's name. Geraldine wants to tell him Rocket is dead, much to Mick's displeasure causing him to get up and leave saying he needs to be with Rocket at this time. Cherie calls Jimmy and leaves a message to say she misses and loves him. He calls her not long after she sits back down and wants to meet with her the following morning.

Billie takes her temperature and finds it's up and tells Mick it's time to call Andrew. Mick thought they weren't doing this until next month but she's ready now as she's been setting things up with Andrew already. Mick wants to know when they will talk about the big things such as the arrangement and work everything. She calls Andrew with the code they developed. When Andrew arrives at their house, Billie wants Mick to ask him how things will go but he's uncomfortable doing that. Andrew gives them a scenario and asks how it sounds to them.

At the hospital, Cherie finds Nina and tells her Jimmy and Tammy are getting married that day at the City Registry Office at 2:30. Nina goes to where Jimmy and Tammy are staying to speak with him. He's still angry at her. She asks if she can make it up to Tammy if he will let her come to their wedding. They go to where Tammy is having her hair done and he speaks with Tammy for a few minutes then invites Nina in. Nina tells her she feels terrible that she didn't feel welcome. Tammy says she understands that Nina is single and older and Jimmy is the man in her life but she wanted them to be sisters. Nina says that is what she wants, too and if Tammy can forgive her she wants to be at the wedding--the entire family, even Billie, want to be there.

Nina calls Billie to tell her Jimmy is getting married and that she said the family would be there. Cherie contacts Nina who asks her to swing by Billie and Mick's house to get a hold of them for her. Nina then calls Darcy to tell him of the plans and asks him to get Geraldine and bring her to the Registry Office. He wants to have a gentle family conversation with Jimmy but she tells him it's beyond that. Jimmy and Tammy exit the building where they've been staying and he asks what the family had to say. Nina tells him once everyone heard he was getting married everything "faded away".

In Nina's car, Tammy tells her she has a problem. Her ex-fiance has arrived in town and keeps texting her and is saying he will crash the wedding and wants Nina to promise she will not tell Jimmy.

Cherie knocks on Mick and Billie's door. When Billie answers, Cherie tells her Jimmy is getting married in an hour. Andrew brings the bowl of sperm and the turkey baster out of the kitchen. Billie takes it and she and Mick go back upstairs as Andrew ushers Rocket back outside with Cherie. She calls Nina to tell her Mick and Billie are at that moment trying for a baby. Darcy arrives at Geraldine's house and finds her sitting in a car outside as prospective buyers tour it. He gets in the car and asks for her phone then tells her about Jimmy. The news doesn't make her happy but she agrees with the plan he sets out for her.

At Nina's apartment, Tammy shows her some of the texts she's received from her ex. The buzzer sounds and Tammy says it's probably him. She gave him Nina's address so they could argue there instead of the wedding. When Tammy opens the door Fraser is there. Her ex arrives as Nina and Fraser are preparing to go out to the balcony. She sees him and he has lost a lot of weight, something he said he did for her. When he grabs Tammy to hug her Fraser steps forward to ask him not do to it and he takes a swing at Fraser saying she's his wife. Nina and Fraser watch Tammy and her ex from the balcony. Fraser brought Nina a card thanking her and apologizing for everything. Tammy's ex interrupts them to apologize for his "moment" and for calling Tammy his wife. He tells them Tammy is thinking it's probably best to not go through with the wedding today everything considered. Nina goes to talk to her and Tammy says it isn't she won't marry Jimmy ever. Her ex overhears this and confronts her saying Tammy told him something different. She wants Nina to tell Jimmy she's sorry and will see him tonight. Nina refuses telling her to say the words to Jimmy and deal with the fallout.

Geraldine and Darcy are the first to arrive for the wedding and hug their son. Cherie and Mick arrive next and both hug Jimmy. Billie is still in the car off her feet. She calls and talks to Mick and asks if their mum is there and how she looks. Nina and Tammy arrive and when Nina asks if she's ready, Tammy wants her to bring Jimmy outside as she doesn't think she can face the entire family. Nina goes in to get Jimmy. When they get back out to her car Tammy is gone. Billie, who is still on the phone with Mick and is on speaker, is giving everyone a play-by-play of what is happening as she can see it from the car. Everyone leaves the office. Nina is forced to tell Jimmy that Tammy can't marry him. He walks away.

Darcy, Geraldine, Billie and Mick have a drink and talk about what has happened. Nina arrives and tells the family Cherie found Jimmy and is bringing him there. She tells them what happened with Tammy and cautions them to not lecture him or say "told you so". As they are talking, Cherie arrives with Jimmy who is incredibly depressed. The family look to Nina to start things off and she tells Jimmy Cherie walked in on Mick and Billie doing the turkey baster. He smiles slightly. Darcy continues and tells them that when Geraldine was getting ready she started to disrobe in front of a Sri Lankan family forgetting it was an open house. Jimmy starts to cry and Billie and Geraldine get up to hug him. Later, Mick gets up to sing the song he was asked to write for the wedding "It's Beautiful to See You In Love". He did some quick rewrites and changed it into a humorous song about what is the use to falling in love making Jimmy smile.

During the song Nina gets an unknown call. She goes outside to answer it and it's Patrick. He admits his injuries were because of his sisters situation and apologizes for some of the things he said.
Nina must deal with the situation with Fraser King but doesn't know how to go about it. Billie and Mick have dinner with Andrew and the evening ends in disaster. Jimmy learns how his entire family feels about Tammy and vows to marry her despite how they feel because he loves her. Nina must make a decision about her relationship with Fraser.

Nina worries over Fraser's mistake and wonders if she's putting her feelings for him ahead of their professional relationship. She sits in her car at work wondering how she will work through the situation when Patrick surprises her. He asks about Fraser and she tells him she tried calling him three times last night as she would any student. He asks if she wants him to take care of it but she says it's her responsibility. When she arrives at the nurses desk, Cherie and Kim are talking about how excited they are about the Fundraising Ball. Zara walks up and asks if Fraser is there yet. As Patrick walks past, Zara asks if he will be coming to the Fundraising Ball and he replies he doesn't want to miss the drama and debauchery they'll be talking about tomorrow. Clegg asks Nina for a word in his office. He tells her they need to determine if Dr. King has what it takes to be a surgeon. If he has Nina's confidence, he has Clegg's.

Patrick asks Nina if she's spoken to Fraser yet but he hasn't arrived to work. She asks him if he went to Clegg about Fraser and he admits that Clegg did ask his opinion. As she's telling Patrick that Fraser is her responsibility Fraser walks up to them. He admits his mistake and that the thought it through and is confident it will never happen again and thanks them for their support and for saving him. When Patrick is gone, Fraser tells Nina he isn't something she will have to constantly sort out as she does everything else in her life. She asks why he didn't return her calls last night and he says he tried calling but he didn't know if she'd be on his side or angry and he didn't want things to be strange.

Billie asks Mick about Andrew. He asks if she's sure she wants to use Andrew as their donor as with an anonymous donor they get the sperm without the estranged brother. She thinks an anonymous donor would be like getting a dog from the pound and Andrew would be like a pedigree puppy from a breeder. Mick doesn't want her to be disappointed if Andrew says 'no'. She calls Andrew that morning to confirm their dinner date that evening. Billie comments to Darcy that Tammy is annoying and wrong and draining the life out of Jimmy but Darcy says he likes her. While Mick and Jimmy are working, Jimmy asks if Billie has said anything about Tammy, a question Mick doesn't want to answer. He tells Jimmy that Billie is protective of him and if Tammy makes him happy that's all that matters.

Billie and Jimmy have breakfast with their mother who tells them she's selling the house. Jimmy isn't happy about the decision and Billie is a bit more supportive of her mother. The conversation turns to Tammy and Jimmy accuses them of hating her. Geraldine says they don't hate her they just want him to be sure about her causing him to leave going back to Nina's to complain.

Cherie agrees to share a car to the Ball with Dr. Clegg. Once she and Nina are alone, she asks if she was able to speak with Fraser and Nina tells her he is convinced his mistake was a one-time thing. Fraser asks Nina to the Fundraising Ball and she reluctantly agrees.

Geraldine and Darcy are at the house while prospective buyers tour it because she can't bear to not be able to hear the comments people make about it. Darcy asks her about Jimmy and he tells her in a roundabout way that she has no right deciding what is right for Jimmy.

Nina watches as Fraser does an ultrasound on a patient. Everything goes good until the woman asks if everything is fine and he tells her they will do a Cesarean, something that cannot be done as the woman has drug allergies. Fraser uncomfortably leaves the room. Nina notes that Fraser froze in a consultation which wasn't even a crisis and goes looking for him. She finds him sitting alone with his head bowed.

Darcy goes to see Jimmy and finds Tammy at home alone. She insists he comes in and she talks constantly about how Jimmy tries hard but he just drifts. When Jimmy arrives, Darcy asks if he's alright about the house. He says he is and Tammy interjects that it's a shame and she can't believe Geraldine is getting rid of it. Darcy tells Jimmy he knows he's annoyed at his mum's and Billie's thoughts on the house and they should all get together and have a chat about it. Darcy really means Tammy and Jimmy understands. When Jimmy meets with Geraldine and Darcy, she tells her son that she wants him to be sure. Jimmy states that she doesn't like Tammy and she tells him flat-out that Tammy is wrong for him and she doesn't like her. If he marries her he will make the biggest mistake of his life. Jimmy angrily tells his parents he loves Tammy and he will marry her then leaves.

Nina sees Fraser and Patrick talking and questions Patrick as to what he said to him. He tells her he wanted to know if he could help and Nina asks why Fraser left. She tells him she will handle things to which he replies she isn't the only person who works with him and the only one who cares how things turn out. She tells him to back off and not go near Fraser causing him to ask if she's too emotionally involved.

Mick looks over some old family photos which he hides quickly when Billie arrives home. She's worried about what Andrew's answer will be and Mick maintains he doesn't know Andrew well enough to know what the answer will be.

As Nina is getting ready for the Ball Jimmy arrives and asks her directly if she likes Tammy. She reluctantly tells him she doesn't warm to Tammy that easily but if he loves her that is all that matters. When he leaves, she has a drink and thinks about how she will sort the problem with Fraser both professionally and personally. She and Fraser arrive at the hospital for the Ball and he gives her a bracelet as a 'thank you' telling her he hopes he'll become half the doctor she is and that she will have the patience to stick with him until he does.

Mick and Billie meet with Andrew and she asks him about his decision straight off. He tells them he has some questions and they need to talk but he is very much open to helping them. Andrew and Billie talk about him while Mick has a drink. The conversation turns into an argument between Mick and Andrew about their father. Andrew tells them he doesn't think this will work out, thanks Billie for dinner and leaves. She gets up and leaves soon after him. Later that night, Mick goes to see Andrew and tells him while there are things they need to sort out as brothers, he loves Billie and wants to have a baby with her but can't do it without him. Andrew agrees to help Billie and Mick.

At the Ball, Nina, Fraser, Cherie, Dr. Clegg, Zara and Kim are seated at a table together. Cherie listens as Clegg talks until Kim's girlfriend asks her if she thinks Kim turns into another person at one of these events. Fraser is drinking and is noticeably unhappy. Nina excuses herself to go freshen up as Patrick enters, alone. He compliments her then asks about Fraser. Cherie gets up from the table and asks Nina to dance and drags her onto the dance floor. Kim and Zara get up to dance. Nina is uncomfortable on the dance floor as she knows she should be talking with Fraser. He walks onto the floor and asks her if they can go talk. Clegg comes onto the floor and starts dancing with the girls.

Fraser tells Nina he feels she isn't into him anymore as she's been cold to him since they arrived. She stammers an answer but he wants honesty. She tells him she doesn't think they have a future together. Kim pulls her away at an inopportune moment for "photo time". As everyone is dressing up for photos, Nina tells Fraser he's had too much to drink and pulls him away from everyone else. He asks how she can be his teacher in the morning if she breaks up with him now. She wants to avoid the discussion but he asks her to just say it and if she thinks he's cut out to be an obstetrician. She tells him she doesn't think he has what it takes. He kisses her and she tries to push him away. Patrick steps in and Fraser takes a swing at him and falls. Patrick and Nina take a drunk Fraser home. Patrick offers to take her home but she wants to sit with Fraser for a bit.

When Nina arrives home Jimmy is moving out and won't tell her where he's going. Mick tells Billie she needn't be upset as Andrew said he would do it.
Nina struggles with how she will work with Patrick but soon learns there is more to his situation than meets the eye. Fraser makes a mistake at work that could prove fatal for a patient. Billie awakens to find Mick isn't home and is worried about him. Mick's brother Andrew comes back into his, and Billie's life. Tammy makes things clear to Nina that whether the Proudman's like her or not, she's there to stay.

Nina is struggling with how she will be able to work with Patrick knowing he abuses his wife. At work, Fraser tells Nina he wants to be with her when she speaks to Clegg about Patrick. Nina goes to see Clegg alone and meets Patrick coming out of his office. Once alone with Clegg, she informs him she and the other staff suspect Patrick of violence toward his wife, something Clegg insists didn't happen as Kate wasn't Patrick's wife, she is his sister and he's doing everything he can to get her away from her abuser. Fraser and Kim get in Patrick's way in the hall as Nina and Clegg round the corner. They call the two down and Clegg takes Patrick back to his office while Nina takes Kim, Zara and Fraser aside to tell them they were wrong about Patrick. Jolene, a woman who has had four children at St. Francis, and is in for baby #5 has been admitted for delivery. Patrick catches Nina and Fraser kissing in an empty room. She and Fraser follow him and Nina apologizes for the previous misunderstanding. The conversation moves from an easily accepted apology to Patrick feeling they are blaming him for the misunderstanding even thought they are just trying to understand the situation.

Zara catches up to Nina to ask why she requested an emergency resuscitation team for one of two Cesareans she has scheduled for that afternoon. She maintains she didn't ask for the team and, after looking at the schedule, goes to Patrick to inform him it's her job to assess whether they need the resuss team. He tells her she lets her personal life interfere with her professional life, something she denies. At the worst possible time, Kim tells her she has a call from her sister. Later, Fraser tells Nina he has a friend that works at a hospital where Patrick used to work. She reckons their opiate supplies had a habit of disappearing and she feels Patrick is an addict. Nina tells him it's speculation and isn't helpful but he says he will be keeping an eye on him.

Nina, Fraser and Cherie watch as Patrick gives Jolene an epidural and Nina thinks how caring Patrick is with the patient. Cherie takes Nina aside for a word and tells her that while she really likes Fraser, she isn't sure about him in the 'doctor department'. Nina isn't pleased with what she is hearing and wonders what's wrong with everyone and why no one wants to work as a team. While scrubbing up for a procedure, Nina tells Patrick she cannot be effective unless he trusts her judgment. He replies that when her judgment gets better, he will trust it. Fraser delivers Jolene's baby and, when wrapping up the delivery, makes a mistake that causes Jolene to begin bleeding at a dangerous rate. Fraser freezes and Kim orders Cherie to get Nina. Nina and Patrick come in and Fraser is still frozen leading Patrick to tell Cherie to take him elsewhere to help him get cleaned up. Later, Nina tells the nurses Jolene is fine and asks about Fraser. Cherie tells her he's gone and she doesn't know where. As she's leaving, she calls Fraser asking him to call her back. At the elevator, Patrick stops her and explains about the resuss team. At home, Nina again gives Fraser a call asking him to get back to her. She and Tammy talk and Tammy says she knows Nina's family hates her as they're scared she'll steal Jimmy away. She tells Nina she's the best thing that ever happened to Jimmy and he's the best thing that ever happened to her and like her or not, she's there to stay. Once she's gone, Nina again calls Fraser.

Billie awakens to find Mick isn't in bed next to her and calls Nina with her worries. The two had a discussion the night before where he told her he wouldn't let her miss out on being someones mum and it might have to be a little patchwork person meaning they should get a donor. They get online to look for a donor but find none that appeal to them. Later, while making jokes about things, Mick is feeling guilty and Billie makes a joke about Mick's masculinity thinking they were still joking. She calls Jimmy to ask if he's seen Mick but he hasn't. After finding out what music Mick was last listening to, Jimmy says he thinks Mick went out for a man-walk to have a man-think and to leave it to him. At work, Billie confides in her father that she loves Mick and didn't mean what she said to him the night before.

Geraldine calls to tell Billie if she has anything in her house claim it now before she throws it in the bin. Nina and Billie to go Geraldine's house to claim their belongings before she tosses them. They discuss Jimmy and Tammy and Geraldine asks Nina to speak with him as he'll marry Tammy just to spite his mother if she talks to him. Nina asks Billie about Mick and she confesses to her mother and sister she wished she'd never heard of sperm donors. Geraldine asks about Mick's brother.

Jimmy calls Billie to tell her he's acquired the target. When she asks where he is, he tells her to sit tight as it's a man-secret. Jimmy and Mick talk and Jimmy tells him what he thinks the measure of a man is and what he thinks they both would do if they were men. Tammy wants Jimmy to have a bit of waxing done and Mick must ask his brother Andrew to be a sperm donor for him. Mick accompanies Jimmy to have the waxing done then later goes to see Andrew. After an uncomfortable conversation, Mick leaves without asking Andrew anything. He and Jimmy, both wearing kilts, go for a drink at the pub. Andrew shows up at Mick's and talks to Billie. She invites him in and he tells her she's nothing like the woman he thought Mick would have been with. Later, when Jimmy shows Tammy the waxing he had done, she tells him he had the wrong part of his body waxed. Billie and Andrew are playing a game when Mick arrives home. She tells him if he lives to be 1,000 years old he will never know how much she loves him.

Darcy and Geraldine discuss Jimmy's engagement to Tammy and, while Darcy is fine with Jimmy being in love, Geraldine doesn't want their son rushing headfirst into another reckless decision. She informs him that they are getting a divorce and he will be moving out leading him to move back in with Cherie and Ray. Later, when Darcy stops by to talk with Geraldine, she tells him she's selling the house. He wants her to think it through but she's made up her mind causing Darcy to realize it really is over between them. He offers to list the house but she declines not wanting the kids to know just yet.
Nina makes a decision about her relationship with Fraser King. Billie and Mick move forward in their quest to have a child together only to receive heartbreaking news. Cherie and Sam's relationship ends. Darcy and Geraldine come to a decision about getting re-married. Jimmy makes an announcement to his family.

Nina has a sex dream about Fraser King causing her to vow that she will nip the situation between the two of them in the bud because "she's a professional woman". At work, they see the abusive husband Fraser had a run-in with previously with Dr. Clegg and wonder if his wife has been re-admitted or filed a complaint. She talks to him about the kiss telling him she doesn't think it can happen again and that she did enjoy it and find him attractive and under different circumstances things could be different. She explains she is in a position of responsibility and it is about priorities and timing. He assures her he would never take advantage of his personal feelings for her in a professional context. Later, while looking at an ultrasound, Nina tells Fraser she might have over thought the situation between them and suggests if they set a few boundaries they could go out for a drink or meal. He starts to kiss her and she stops him saying it would be a date with boundaries. She and Fraser have a quiet dinner together that leads to them going back to her apartment for a night together. As Nina is enjoying the sight of a naked Fraser in her kitchen, Tammy and Jimmy, both naked, come downstairs. Nina stands in front of Fraser and makes the introductions before they go back to her bedroom. At work, Nina feels somewhat awkward with Fraser and he tells her he'll make sure it will stay just between them if that's what she wants.

Billie and Mick go for an appointment with their fertility doctor who shows them how to use the injection pen and Billie gives herself the first dose. She is to inject herself once a day and, with luck, in 12-14 days they will be harvesting her eggs. Mick is concerned about the side effects of the injections but Billie doesn't seem to give them much thought at all. As the days pass, she continues the injections and her behavior does start to change. She starts out excited and gets increasingly more agitated. Mick makes Billie call Nina because she is having a lot of side effects from the hormone injections. Billie thinks they are normal symptoms but her "girlfriend" Mick thinks she shouldn't be feeling so poorly so quickly. They run down the list of symptoms for Nina and she asks if Billie has had any chest pains or if her wee has changed color, which she hasn't. She warns that while some things are normal, everyone is different and she must keep a close eye on her symptoms and if things get worse she needs an ultrasound. Billie calls Nina while she's with Fraser because she's gotten sicker wanting Nina to help. Nina takes her to the fertility clinic for an ultrasound and Billie realizes Nina has had "death bed" sex. At the clinic while waiting for the doctor, Billie questions Nina about the sex she had. Mick arrives in time for the ultrasound where they learn Billie has ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome, an uncommon and sometimes fatal reaction. They must stop the treatments immediately. Billie asks if they can try again and the doctor says they must focus on getting her back up and running again. Nina assures Billie she'll be fine and leaves her in her "girlfriend's" capable hands. Before she leaves, Billie asks Nina to say nothing to the family. The doctor tells Billie her body has rejected the drugs and they must stop fertility treatments and it won't be possible for them to conceive a child together.

Cherie tells Nina she cannot make sense of her feelings for Sam at all. She knows he's everything she could ever ask for but, at other times, she wants to punch him in the face. She finds it irritating that he walks around in his white fronts all the time, that he chews with his mouth open and talks while he's chewing and that he looks at what is in his glass every single time he takes a drink. The conversation goes from Cherie and Sam to Nina and she confesses that she kissed Fraser. Cherie urges her to stop thinking so much and have a crack and living for a minute. Cherie and Sam's love life is less than spectacular. On the way to Geraldine and Darcy's re-commitment dinner, Cherie breaks up with Sam.

Darcy wants Nina to write a speech commemorating the 1980's for he and Geraldine's re-commitment dinner. Geraldine knows Darcy is up to something and he has the kids involved but she worries why no one seems to care what she wants. She worries if she tells Darcy how she feels he will have another heart attack and die. Billie isn't crazy about Darcy wanting her to write a speech about the seventies as she was just a baby then and what she does remember her mum would probably want to forget. She tells him the speech idea is perhaps the worst idea he's ever had including the time he got Geraldine a female stripper for their anniversary. Before the kids arrive for the dinner, Geraldine breaks down and tells Darcy that she loves him but cannot marry him again.

At the dinner, Cherie tells everyone she broke up with Sam. To cheer her up, Billie announces to everyone that Nina has been having sex, an issue Nina admits to but quickly moves away from. After Tammy makes a toast to Darcy and Geraldine, they stand up and announce they have decided they will finally be getting a divorce. Jimmy announces that he proposed to Tammy and she accepted.

Nina is called away from the dinner for a delivery and is given the details of the case by Zara. While she and Fraser are with the woman, Dr. Clegg enters the room and introduces them to their new colleague, Patrick, the abusive husband Fraser butted heads with earlier.

When cold-blooded killer and drug runner Carmen Vega escapes from prison while at her eldest sons funeral the team is called into action. The case becomes personal when Carmen Vega has Shea's girlfriend, Vanessa, kidnapped and threatens to kill her unless Shea sees to it Carmen is allowed to escape. Vanessa's abduction, and the possibility that someone from the Marshall's service leaked info on the cons to Vega causes Erica and Lloyd to contemplate running.

At Edgecombe Female Penitentiary in New York, New York, the women are in the showers and one, Carmen Vega (Lauren Velez) is joking with the others about a man she knew on the outside. A guard tells Carmen the warden wants to see her but Carmen says she needs to shower and the warden can wait. The guard informs Carmen her son was found in a dumpster with a bullet in his brain. The warden gives Carmen his deepest condolences but he cannot allow her to attend the funeral. The warden mentions her drug trade and Carmen insists it was her husbands business and her son, Sebastian, was drawn into it just as she was only she was fortunate enough to get into prison where she could get a second chance. As the guard is dragging her from the office she begs and pleads with the warden that she must see her son and hold his hand one last time before he's buried.

Carmen steps out of a prison van in her orange prison jumpsuit and chained at the wrists and ankles. She is flanked by five guards and led into the church where her son's body rests. She wants to run to her youngest son, Cesar (Manny Montana), but the guards restrain her saying she isn't allowed any physical contact and give her five minutes to pay her respects to her slain son. A guard checks beneath the coffin Sebastian is in for weapons as Carmen walks up the aisle to her son. She kneels next to the coffin and wants to touch her son but cannot for the chains around her wrists. She turns to the guards and begs them to free her hands. A guard frees one of her hands and she turns back to her son. She stands and leans over his body. As she's kissing his forehead, she reaches into the folds of the coffin with her free hand and takes hold of a gun. She turns and fires, killing the guards. Her associates draw their weapons and surround her as she tells the mourners at the church if any of them go to the police she will find out and kill their entire family.

At the office in Brooklyn, Shea is surprised to see Vega has escaped. He tells the team he knew her a couple of lifetimes ago and they had some business dealings. When Charlie starts to tell the team about Vega, Shea tells him he's got it and proceeds to tell her story. She claimed the dope she was imprisoned for belonged to her husband who was killed by a rival gang two weeks earlier. In actuality, she knew about the drugs because she was the head of the family and she had her husband killed because he was having an affair with her hairdresser. She called all the shots and she pulled the triggers. Shea points to her picture saying she is the baddest, meanest, most vicious person he ever met. Shea did business with her for a couple of years as she had a pipeline to Columbia and provided his outfit with a certain recreational powder. Ray asked if they stayed on good terms and Shea tells him they didn't as one night she made a move on him and when he shot her down, she got that look in her eye when she doesn't get what she wants and called him a name that he doesn't allow people who aren't black to call him. He took his business elsewhere and hadn't seen her since. Charlie wants Shea to run point on the case but Shea is reluctant to do so as he wants to stay low profile since Carmen and all her people know him. Erica suggests Shea can call plays from the press box to the players on the sidelines, something he agrees with. Charlie agrees and orders Shea to start making calls as he wants to know what Carmen's plan is.

As Shea is getting out of his prison clothes and into his civvies, his phone rings. Vanessa (Tattiawna Jones) is on the other end of the line saying she has a message from Carmen. She knows he is working with the Marshall's and if he doesn't make sure she doesn't get caught they will kill her. Shea wants to talk to whoever is there with Vanessa and when she tells them that, a man slaps her and hangs up the phone.

Carmen's son Cesar tells his mother that the message was delivered to Shea. She looks to a wall that has several photographs hanging on it and asks her crew to tell her what's wrong with the picture. She thinks there are too many black faces at the top of the pyramid and they are all the way at the bottom. Cesar informs her they lost a lot of territory under Sebastian as he would have rather done lines with the guys rather than fighting for the street corners. She admits it was obvious even from prison that Sebastian was driving them into the ground as he didn't even keep up with the payments to the guards. She's angry she has half the crew she used to command and that Flow Flow (Brooks Darnell) made it to the top. She orders one of her crew to find Flow Flow. When he and another man leave, she is notified that a man Buntz (Jim McAleese) has arrived to speak with her. She politely greets the man telling him she'll be with him as soon as she can and to make himself comfortable. She goes to Cesar and promises him she will make him a king. He needs to make the men in the crew fear him so they will respect him.

Shea is in the SUV outside the church where Vega escaped speaking with one of his friends on his phone. He wants him to find out where Vanessa is being held no matter what he has to do. Charlie and Ray get in the car and asks what Shea has and are told nothing yet. Charlie reminds Shea that they have five dead correctional officers in the church. Shea holds up his phone telling them he's trying.

Flow Flow is in a strip club receiving a lap dance from one of the strippers (Virna Kim) when Carmen enters in a hail of gunfire and walks up to him. She tells him he has a stupid name as she holds a gun pointed at his head. He swears to her he didn't kill her son and doesn't know who did. She admits she knows that as she is the one who put the hit out on her own son then shoots him.

The team arrive at the strip club and Charlie goes to check out the security camera in hopes of identifying someone other than Carmen. Ray asks Lloyd to speak with the strippers. Shea receives a call from his friend and steps away from everyone else to talk. He has no word on Vanessa and Shea begs him for his help as they've been friends since they were five but his friend hangs up. Lloyd addresses the strippers saying it's a common misconception that strippers hate men, and the truth is they hate men in strip clubs. He assures them he isn't a man whose hands they must constantly slap away and is there to move things forward so they can get back to work making some money. He asks for pertinent information regarding Flow Flow or the woman who murdered him. Jade, the stripper who was with Flow Flow, raises her hand. She tells Lloyd she was giving Flow Flow a lap dance when Carmen came in. She hid under the table but was able to hear Carmen say something.

Charlie is shocked to learn Carmen had her own son killed but Lloyd feels Jade was telling the truth. Erica points out Sebastian's funeral was the perfect way for Carmen to get out of prison to make her escape. When Charlie asks Shea what he thinks he tells them he's thinking. Ray and Charlie take him aside and Ray questions him about his new found lack of enthusiasm for the case. Shea maintains he's working on it but Charlie warns him if he's thinking about past loyalties he will send him back to Sing Sing as they have no time for games because Carmen's body count is rising. Shea tells them if Flow Flow as involved with Sebastian business wise, there was only one man who could set it up, The Mayor (Eugene Clark).

The team returns to the office and Julie informs Charlie all local airports and docks have been notified and are on alert and there's no news from NYPD about information sharing. Ray brings Mayor in and Shea asks Charlie if he can have first crack at the interview since Mayor knows and trusts him and Charlie gives his consent. Erica thinks Shea is up to something because of him wanting to conduct the interview himself. When Ray re-enters the main room, he joins Charlie at Julie's desk to listen to Shea's interview. Mayor asks Shea what he's doing there and Shea tells him 'community service'. He tells him if they don't find Carmen soon it will get bad for some people and Mayor asks if it hasn't gotten bad already. Shea points out it will get bad for them. Mayor insists on a deal like the one Shea has before he will do any talking. Shea sits down and quietly tells him that Carmen has Vanessa and will kill her, something Charlie, Ray and Julie weren't able to make out over the intercom. Shea asks Mayor to help him find Vanessa before it's too late but he refuses because he needs to worry about his own safety now.

Charlie and Ray come back into the room and Mayor tells them he's a dead man if he goes back out into the street. He wants witness protection before he will say a single word to them. Charlie asks if he's willing to give info on everyone and testify at every trial the D.A. needs him at and he doesn't want that, he just wants to give info on Carmen. Charlie tells him that's no deal and Ray includes they could put him in protective custody until Carmen is caught or he could take his chances on the street. Mayor agrees to the deal and Ray sends Shea from the room. When he's outside the room, Shea's phone rings and it is Vanessa telling him she has guns pointed at her and the men holding them are angry because they think he's working for the Marshall's. Shea assures her he's making sure the Marshall's are going in the wrong direction but she insists they aren't buying it. Shea wants her to tell them he's playing ball and will make sure the Marshall's won't get anywhere near Carmen. The men with Vanessa hang up the phone. Erica and Lloyd are behind Shea and she asks what he's up to and that if he doesn't bring them into the loop they might tell Charlie he should hang onto Shea's phone. He tells them about Carmen taking Vanessa and Erica asks if he's going to throw the investigation. He knows Carmen will kill Vanessa no matter what he does so the only option he has left open to him is to work the case and get Carmen before anything happens to Vanessa. He asks if he can count on them to cover for him and Erica says he needs to tell them he isn't planning on running. Shea looks in her eyes and tells her he isn't running.

Mayor tells Charlie and Ray that Carmen has positioned Cesar to take over and Ray wants to know where to find him. Mayor doesn't know but tells them Cesar's father might be willing to help out as he was never in Carmen's organization and he always stood up to her and gives them the name Jose Rodriguez (Tim Sell). Charlie points out that's an extremely common name in Queens but Mayor doesn't know any nicknames or anything else about Rodriguez.

Carmen and Cesar are talking about his father and she asks if his father raised him or taught him the ways of the world. Cesar insists she wouldn't let him. She tells him Sebastian thought he was a man but he inherited his weakness from his father. She wants to know how she can leave him in control if she has to worry about him falling under the influence of his father. He tells her Sebastian had everything handed to him and he (Cesar) had to prove himself and asks her to leave his father out of it. She kisses her son telling him she's just going to talk to his father. As she starts to leave, the businessman who came to see her earlier is still waiting and stops her. She apologizes and tells him she'll be with him as soon as she can.

Charlie informs Mayor that two Marshall's that are at the office will take him back to headquarters. As the Marshall's escort Mayor out, Julie tells Charlie and Ray there are 1,293 men named 'Jose Rodriguez' in the greater New York area. She called NYPD Gang Unit and they are trying to get a current address. He wants her to lean on the NYPD as they don't have time for them to waste. Outside, the Marshall's put Mayor into their car. Upstairs, Ray asks Shea if he knows about Rodriguez and he says he's never heard of him. He is interrupted by the sound of screeching tires then gunfire. Ray and Charlie draw their weapons. Charlie orders everyone to stay put as he and Ray head downstairs. Julie and the cons go to the windows where they can see two men in a car firing at the Marshall's car. When Ray and Charlie get outside they find the Marshall's car riddled with bullets and all three men inside dead. Charlie asks Ray how Carmen knew Mayor was in their custody and Ray raises his eyes upward.

Upstairs, Ray takes Shea into the interview room and asks if he's in Carmen's back pocket. Shea insists he isn't and Ray makes it clear that if he is working with Carmen he's looking at three murder charges. Shea assures him he's doing all he can to find Carmen. Ray asks for Shea's phone. Reluctantly, Shea hands it over. Ray tells him to sit down and wait for someone to come get him then leaves the room.

Charlie is being fiercely questioned by a Marshall's Senior Director, Colburn (Derek Webster), in his office who wants to know if anyone could have tailed them back to the office with Mayor. As Charlie is being grilled by the Director, Erica and Lloyd talk about the developments with Shea. Lloyd wants to tell Ray and Charlie everything they know but Erica points out that two Marshall's have already been killed and they sat on information that should have been told beforehand and it's possible the task force will be shut down. Julie can hear their conversation. Erica asks Lloyd what Shea will do and if he might help Carmen then run. Lloyd tells her about the Prisoner's Dilemma and asks what if Shea doesn't run. She tells him it isn't a game and she will not go back to maximum security as she will not talk to her daughter through three inches of Plexiglas. He doesn't want to go back to maximum security either but he doesn't want to ruin the best work release program they could find; he won't. Charlie assures Colburn that they are just as upset over the murders as his superiors are and gives him his word they'll get to the bottom of it. Colburn tells Charlie that he needs to get up to speed on the case as Knox is demanding oversight on it until they get in front of the mess. Charlie tells him the files are all on his desk and he can go through them while he goes to make sure the team is on Carmen's trail.

Charlie goes into the interview room and asks Ray if Shea's phone got him anything. Ray tells him a couple of calls from a Dimani Johnson. Shea informs them that is his source on the streets and they are trying to find info on Carmen. Ray tells Charlie about two calls from a cell phone using a scrambling device which Shea explains as being from contacts he has on the side that doesn't want anyone to know they're providing info on Carmen and assures them he had nothing to do with the Marshall's getting killed. Charlie tells Shea he knows he isn't being straight with them and Shea again stresses that he wants to help find Carmen. Outside the interview room, Charlie tells Ray he can't hold Colburn off any longer and must tell him what's going on with Shea. Ray tells him if he does that they may as well clear out their desks. Charlie agrees they are all on the line but he's the only person with a badge to lose. Ray counters that he's trying to advise him on how not to lose it. Julie comes in to tell them she found Jose Rodriguez who lives in a cousin's apartment in Long Island City. When she leaves, Ray tells Charlie they put Shea back in the bullpen because if Colburn finds out they suspect one of their own they are toast and Carmen is gone.

Jose Rodriguez arrives home to find Carmen waiting for him. He isn't exactly happy to see her and wants to know why she's there. She tells him she wants to make peace for Cesar's sake as he will be taking the reigns. Jose doesn't want to stand by while Carmen sends his son to an early grave like Sebastian. He wants his son to have a future. Carmen asks if that is why he's been talking to his son about moving to Miami. She tells him their son has a future and she wants him to promise he will not interfere with it. He sits down next to her and she hands him a glass of wine. He tells her he cannot make that promise. As she is kissing him, she pulls a knife from her pocket.

Ray and Erica arrive at Jose's building and he asks her if Shea said anything to her and she says he hasn't. He reminds her that if one con runs all three go back. Erica points out that Jose is in apartment #2 and they go inside. Ray draws his gun when they see the keys are in the door. They enter the apartment and find Jose's body on the floor with Carmen nowhere to be found.

At the office, Charlie hangs up the phone saying Carmen snuck out the back as if she knew they were coming. Shea reminds him they shouldn't look at him as they took his phone. Colburn comes out of Charlie's office wanting to know what the word is on Rodriguez and Charlie tells him Carmen killed him. Colburn angrily goes back into the office and sits down behind the desk. Shea tells Charlie they need to start looking at Colburn instead of him since he was the one who sent the Marshall's down to transport Mayor. Shea points out all the things Colburn knew that made their way to Carmen. Julie stands up from her desk and goes to Charlie and tells him Colburn has a second phone that he's hiding under Charlie's desk to text with. Shea sees this as proof. Lloyd points out Colburn has been tugging at his collar which is a sign of discomfort and nervousness. Shea tells Charlie La Santa has a man on the inside and it isn't him. Charlie asks about the name "la santa" (the saint) and Shea tells him it is Carmen's nickname and only her inner circle calls her that. Charlie steps into his office and asks Colburn if he's heard anything more about La Santa. Colburn tells him no and that it's his job to keep him informed. Charlie closes the door and quietly tells Julie to go to the back, get on the phone and call Ray to bring him up to speed then call Internal Affairs to send someone over. Charlie tells the cons to keep their heads down, work the case and play it cool. Colburn comes out of Charlie's office wanting to leave but Charlie will not let him go and tells him there is a guy from IA on his way over. Shea questions Colburn about his involvement and mentions the second phone as Julie watches the exchange from the back room. Charlie holds Shea back as he continues to press Colburn harder. Colburn draws his weapon and Charlie turns with his own gun raised ordering Colburn to put his down. Colburn tries to justify working with Carmen and Charlie tells him they can make it right. Colburn repeats 'make it right' to Charlie then turns his gun on himself.

Colburn's body is wheeled out of the office and Shea comments he was a rat and died a rat's death and didn't even tell them where Carmen was before killing himself. Ray asks Julie where they are with Colburn's cell phone. She informs him he cleared the history so she's having all calls and texting traffic captured. Ray asks if she's alright and she says she's guesses she is.

Carmen is being given instructions on how to use a device she is buying from Buntz. She takes the equipment and tells him if he'll be kind enough to wait there she'll arrange payment. As she's leaving, Cesar asks when he'll see her again and she tells him someday when things quiet down and that he's a king now. He asks about the man and she tells him he knows what to do. She kisses her son goodbye and leaves.

Erica is on the phone with her ex wanting him to have their daughter call her when she gets home from school. Lloyd walks up to her and she hangs up and stresses to him that Carmen had a Marshall feeding her inside information and she has as much info on them as she does Shea and warns him to call his mother. She tells Shea she isn't putting her daughter in danger like that. Lloyd asks him what the plan is and he tells Lloyd the only way is that he needs to bring the ballgame to Carmen. Erica says she won't wait to get a phone call like Shea did. Charlie calls to the cons and tells them they have the feed back from Colburn's phone. They look over the texts and fine "PAWE" in them leading them to wonder what it could be. They dial the number on another of the calls and Shea's phone rings in.

Charlie takes Shea into the interview room and tells him they have a clean slate starting right now but he needs to tell him what's going on. Shea tells him Colburn must have sold him out to Carmen because she kidnapped his girlfriend and will kill her if they catch Carmen. Charlie points out they can't find Vanessa unless they catch Carmen. Shea knows and wants Charlie to promise he can get Carmen alone and gives Charlie a location where they might find her.

Buntz's body is being wrapped in plastic as Charlie and Ray enter with guns drawn. Cesar's men draw and fire upon them and are killed in the exchange. Ray points his gun at Cesar and asks where his mother is.

The team and the police go over the place as Shea and Charlie question Cesar about where his mother can be found but he isn't talking. Shea asks him where they are keeping Vanessa but he maintains he doesn't know what he's talking about. Shea hits him and demands to know where Vanessa is and Ray pulls him away and orders him to leave the room. He asks Lloyd and Erica if they found anything and Lloyd holds up a piece of the equipment the salesman had. Ray orders him to send a picture to Julie for identification. Erica is going over the texts on the phone. Charlie shows Cesar the crime scene photos from his father's apartment telling him Carmen killed him and asks where she went. Cesar, who is clearly upset by what he's seeing tells Charlie she's gone. Julie calls Ray with an identification on the murdered man. He's a regional salesmen for Northstar Nautical Supplies. Erica suggests that could indicate PAWE means Port Authority Watch Engineer and Shea says Carmen is sailing back to Columbia.

At Port Authority, Charlie tells the team the ship there is definitely headed to Columbia but was searched and every head counted and Carmen isn't there. Julie calls with identification on the equipment Lloyd found. It goes with a device used by miners and submarine crews in case of a lack of air. They take dogs over the cargo containers on the dock and a dog stops in front of one and barks. They open the container and find it is outfitted for someone to inhabit. Charlie, with gun drawn, orders Carmen to step out. After a few seconds, she steps around the corner into view. She acknowledges Shea as she's being cuffed and Charlie asks where Vanessa is. She claims to not know what he's talking about. As Ray is leading her away, she calls Erica and Lloyd both by name and tells them she heard a lot about them. Erica turns to Lloyd and tells him the train is heading for a cliff and why are they still on it. Ray calls to them and they follow him.

Shea gets in an interview room with Carmen and they talk calmly. She points out that he no longer has power in the streets. He admits that's true but he does have power in prison, exactly where Cesar is going. He puts a phone down on the table telling her to make a call and get Vanessa released now. She again maintains she doesn't know what he's talking about. Shea tells her she got rid of one son but Cesar is the one that matters. She tells him Cesar lasted one day on the throne and to imagine her disappointment. He informs her that she either call off the hit on Vanessa or she will find out in a couple of days that Cesar will be skinned alive and asks her what it will be. The rest of the team, and Cesar, are listening in the main room as she tells Shea "Cesar is dead to me". Erica walks away and Lloyd follows her under Julie's watchful eyes. Shea comes into the room asking Cesar if he heard what his mother said and Charlie tells him if he wants a deal it will only come if he tells where Vanessa is. Cesar agrees to take Charlie to where Vanessa is and the two leave. Shea starts to follow and Ray stops him.

Erica is talking to her daughter and tells her it's a secret between the two of them but she needs to be ready in case she comes by. She ends the call when Lloyd enters the room. He tells her Cesar gave up where Vanessa is. She says that's good for Shea but does nothing for them as Carmen can tell anyone in prison who they are and what they are doing and she will not let Carmen kill her daughter. Lloyd point out that if she runs he goes back to maximum and before they pulled him out things had started to get difficult for him and he's unsure he'd last a month there. She tells him to run with her and that she doesn't want to run either and wished the gig would have worked out but she won't let Carmen put a bulls eye on her daughter's back. Julie comes into the room and tells them if two members of the task force try to run Charlie and Ray will find them, no matter what, and she'd have to help them. She tells Erica her little girl would be older than she is now by time she got out and Lloyd that he'd never be a professor again and prove everyone wrong. They work with the U.S. Marshall's and they will protect them. She asks them not to run and leaves.

Downstairs, Ray brings two pitchers of beer to the table and tells them they've waited a long time for it and to drink responsibly. Shea tells him they've been outed. Ray admits there's no going back for any of them, including him. He might never get to carry a badge again but the task force has given him the chance to do the only thing he knows. As long as they stick together, they will be alright. Charlie enters the restaurant with Vanessa and calls to Shea who gets up and runs to her. The two embrace as Charlie goes to the table and sits. He tells them all he will put them and their families in a witness security safe houses for the next two weeks as they do a risk assessment. They have nothing to worry about as the Marshall's have their backs. Carmen is being sent to a supermax in Colorado and will have no contact with anyone. Lloyd raises his glass saying "let's get drunk" and looks to Erica. The two smile and everyone enjoys their drinks.
Every once in a while a television series comes along that has a theme song you can't get out of your head or stop listening to. And I'm not talking about Gilligan's Island, here. I'm talking about shows that use actual songs for the theme such as Republic of Doyle (Oh Yeah by Great Big Sea), The Good Guys (Slink: A Hymn by Locksley), Hung (I'll Be Your Man by the Black Keys) and the Australian one-season drama Cops L.A.C. (Howlin' For You by the Black Keys).

The new British drama, The Shadow Line is another of those shows. It uses Pause by Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo. An amazing way to start an amazing show.

In Pause, the vocals are delicate yet powerful. Emily Barker's harmonies are stunning. Her voice is soft yet carries with it an intensity that pulls you into the music. There aren't many lyrics to this short song but there doesn't need to be as so much is said in just a few lines. Pause isn't drowning in studio tricks and gimmickry. It's simple, straightforward...and perfect.

As with most shows that use actual songs as their theme music, the mix of Pause that opens The Shadow Line is a bit different than what you'll hear on Almanac. It doesn't matter which version you hear, however, the beauty, sadness, vulnerability and depth is there.

Emily Barker is a singer/songwriter originally from Bridgetown, Western Australia. Ms. Barker and her band, The Red Clay Halo released their third album, Almanac in February 2011 drawing immediate support from BBC Radio. The band self-finances all of their albums releasing them on Barker's imprint, Everyone Sang. Fans in the UK can see Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo live on ten dates beginning 11th June, 2011 and running through 19th August, 2011. (Information about the dates are available by clicking "Gigs" at the top of the Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo bandcamp.com page.)

I haven't been able to stop listening to Pause since first hearing it. If it hadn't been for The Shadow Line I probably never would have been introduced to Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo. And that would have been a real crime.

If you would like to hear Pause in its entirety, the song can be streamed from Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo bandcamp.com page. You can also purchase the song or the entire Almanac album from their page (something I highly recommend!).
When you put the two together you, more often than not, have the perfect series. The Shadow Line is no exception to that. The series was created, written and directed by Hugo Blick and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Christopher Eccleston, Rafe Spall and Stephen Rea. It follows the investigation into the murder of Harvey Wratten over the course of a seven episode run.

The Shadow Line is anything but just another run-of-the-mill cop drama. When Harvey Wratten is murdered just hours after receiving a Royal pardon along with his nephew, Jay, the investigation begins. However, it isn't just the police wanting to know who murdered Harvey. His nephew, Jay Wratten (Rafe Spall) wants to know as well and conducts his own investigation in his own way. This also isn't a buddy cop drama in the least. DI Gabriel (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and DS Lia Honey (Kierston Wareing) don't spend thier evenings laughing and chatting at the pub. There is real tension between them at times. They work together for the good of the case but she isn't afraid to question him and has seen at least one of DI Gabriel's secrets with her own eyes. DI Gabriel was involved in a shooting where he was shot in the head and his partner was killed. He has amnesia related to the shooting but not everyone believes his claim of remembering nothing is legitimate. Even DI Gabriel knows everything isn't as it appears when he finds a briefcase full of money in his closet.

On the other side of the coin we have the criminal element from which the late Harvey Wratten came. His nephew, Jay doesn't just want to know who is responsible for his uncle's death, he is driven to know. Rafe Spall's portrayal of Jay Wratten is powerful and compelling. He easily goes from grieving nephew to maniacal "interrogator" demanding answers. No one, or nothing, including cats are safe from his desire to know who killed Harvey.

Joseph Bede (Christopher Eccleston) was an associate of Harvey Wratten and the two men started a venture together with Bede investing everything he had. After Harvey is murdered, Bede makes it clear to those remaining in the organization, as well as prospective new associates that he wants to finish the venture he and Harvey started, make his investment back then he's out for good. In his personal life, Bede's wife, Julia (Lesley Sharp) is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's. Joseph is determined to take care of his beloved wife no matter what. Having lost someone extraordinarily dear to me to Alzheimer's I'm usually not fond of the disease being used as a device for sake of plot. Seeing Sharp's handling of her character's illness, Eccleston's reaction as an adoring husband knowing what lies in store for his wife and how the Alzheimer's is actually written into the plot impressed me. I didn't get the feel that it was thrown in as a simple way to make Julia Bede a sympathetic character or to try and give a little humanity to Joseph Bede.

Then there is "Gatehouse" (Stephen Rea). He's a mysterious man in a dark coat and hat who manages to reach each person connected to the Wratten murder just before the police. More often than not, those he comes in contact with end up dead

There are a lot of different story lines going on in The Shadow Line at once. You have the police investigation into Harvey Wratten's murder, Jay Wratten's own quest to find out who killed his uncle, Joseph Bede's continuation of the operation he set up and put everything he had into, Bede's wife's struggle with early onset Alzheimer's, DI Gabriel and his wife wanting to have a baby and the secret he is keeping from her and, finally, but certainly not the least of things, a mysterious briefcase of money in DI Gabriel's closet and the mystery surrounding a shooting he was involved in and whether or not the amnesia he claims to have regarding it is true or made up.

While it might sound like so many things going on at once would be confusing, it really isn't. The story is so well presented it's easy to keep up with everything and not get one confused with the other or lose your place. Not once have I found myself asking "wait...what just happened there?".

Fans of other British drama's such as State of Play or Luther might find The Shadow Line to be their cup of tea as it sort of has the same feel to it. The writing is strong, the acting is superb and each episode of The Shadow Line is better than the last. The only negative thing I really can say about the show is that it will be just seven episodes. Something this good, I could watch for much longer and enjoy every second.

Four of the seven episodes have aired already. The final three will air on the 2nd, 9th and 16th of June. Residents of the UK can watch previous episodes online at the Shadow Line Official BBC web site (link below).
Season One, Episode Twelve, There Are Rules
Original Air Date: May 22, 2011

The Breakout Kings are called into action when five men escape from prison after an 18-wheeler crashes through the wall at Attica. Ray sends Shea undercover at Attica to find out information on a sixth inmate who bailed on the escape putting Shea into danger. Meanwhile, the new chief director pays a visit to Charlie letting him know that he wants to change things around with the team and they might very well lose one of their members.

Ronald Barnes (Jeff Seymour) walks through the yard of Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, New York holding a map. He's walking as if pacing off steps to find something drawing curious looks from other inmates. He makes eye contact with two inmates, Chester Rhodes (Avery Kidd Waddell) and Sandy Clemente (Dean Chekvala). Rhodes taps on a table in front of yet another inmate, Tran Jun (Jeff Ong) who looks up from what he's writing then stands and follows Rhodes to stand before Barnes along with Clemente and a fourth inmate, Carlos Zepeda (Lombardo Boyar). An inmate behind Barnes tells him he thinks he's lost. Barnes turns and informs the man he's just enjoying the sunshine. He's told by the larger inmate that that part of the yard belongs to him and he needs to get out of there. Barnes looks to his watch and tells the man that it's funny as he was about to say the same thing to him. At that moment, an 18-wheeler crashes through the wall of the prison yard. As the guards start the lockdown, a man gets out of the truck with a gun and begins firing. Barnes, Rhodes, Clemente, Jun and Zepeda run to the trailer of the truck and get inside. In the process, Rhodes takes one of the guards hostage. A guard fatally shoots the man who drove the truck into the prison yard. The back of the trailer lowers and a black SUV drives out and through the hole opened in the wall by the 18-wheeler.

At the team office in Brooklyn, Richard Wendell (Gregg Henry) has paid Charlie a visit. He reads off a list of complaints made against the team. Charlie admits the team tends to be a little unorthodox but they always stay within the confines of the law. Wendell asks if Charlie would say that with his hand on a Bible and receives no answer. He closes the folder he is holding and sits down telling Charlie he's there to shake things up a bit. Charlie tells him to speak with Director Knox and he'll learn they have all the necessary clearances. Wendell informs him he did speak with Knox, once he became his new boss. Wendell wants Charlie to put the fear of God in the cons to make the team more effective. He tells Charlie he has a thick file in his office of guys that could replace any one of the mutts on the team. Charlie tells Wendell they have a massive case they are about to take on and now isn't really the best time to make change for change sake. Wendell stands saying he is going to study the case files and watch the operation and see if anything should be done.

The cons come into the main office and Lloyd is telling a joke, that no one seems to enjoy but him. Wendell, who is leaving Charlie's office, comments on the team. Charlie introduces him and Lloyd immediately says "it's a pleasure to meet you, Dick" and introduces himself then asks if he'd like to hear a tasty joke. When "Dick" makes no reply, Charlie identifies him as the Marshall's new chief director then introduces Ray to Wendell. Wendell leaves and Lloyd says he didn't know that Wendell was the boss but Charlie isn't pleased. He tells the team they have no time for joking as they have a major case to work and a new director who is riding him hard for results and orders them to get to work. Erica comments that it might be paranoia but she doesn't like the fact Wendell was just there, something Shea agrees with. Charlie wants to put the issue to bed then and there and tells them Wendell might send one of them back to the big house, make his mark and take credit as if he put the team together himself. He warns them if they pull their regular antics he might not be able to save them so the best thing they can do is play it straight and focus on the case.

Charlie starts the briefing telling the team of the five men on the run and of the guard that was kidnapped. Ray runs down the crimes of each man. Ronald Barnes was in for securities fraud and insider trading and took half a billion dollars before getting caught. Before Ray can run down Rhodes, Shea tells the team about him. He knows he's a bad man who has killed more people than smoking. Ray continues with Carlos Zepeta who ran the biggest east coast car theft ring. Tran Jun is a forger who has gotten half the Russian mob into Coney Island with his passports. Finally, Sandy Clemente who is a drug runner. His looks are deceiving as he's left a lot of bodies on both sides of the border. He asks the team for thoughts and Shea theorizes that Barnes provided the money, Rhodes the muscle and one of his old prison buddies on the outside drove the 18-wheeler, Zepeta provided the transportation. Erica adds that Clemente smuggles drugs over the border and this time it will be people--the escapees, and Ray adds that Jun will provide the passports. Julie tells the team something just came in and Charlie informs them the guard that was kidnapped was found by a barn in New Paltz shot twice in the head.

The team arrive in New Paltz, New York where Ray tells Charlie Julie found out the land was owned by a holding company buried under a half dozen names and the bottom line is it belongs to Ronald Barnes. Charlie asks the local police officer standing guard at the barn to open it but he's told they need a warrant. Ray tells him they have exigent circumstances as the cons could be in the barn. He takes a sledgehammer and breaks the lock then opens the door so the team can enter. Lloyd notes that the cons have changed out of their prison gear into street clothes and Charlie finds where Jun had already started making passports by cutting up photos. The local officer notices thinner tire tracks and radios to put out an alarm out for three cars and two motorcycles. Erica corrects that it's four cars and one cycle. From the office, Julie tells them that when Barnes' assets were seized, several cars in his collection were never found including a 1937 Jaguar Roadster valued at a half million dollars. Charlie knows they will be using it to fund their escape out of the country and Zepeta will broker the deal. Shea thinks they'll go someplace close and gives a few places where he can take them but Ray says he'll be needed for something else as there is a sixth set of civilian clothes and they need Shea to go inside, undercover, to find out who the sixth runner was supposed to be. Shea is vehemently against this plan but Ray points out that the cons won't talk to a Marshall and asks Julie to run him up some prisoner transfer papers. Charlie agrees with the plan and he takes Lloyd and Erica to check out the chop shops for the Jaguar.

At the office, Ray goes over four reasons why the sixth con didn't make the breakout. He thinks the best option is that the sixth man was hurt and in the infirmary. Julie confirms that five inmates were admitted a week before the escape. Ray tells Shea he was transferred to Attica because he assaulted a guard at Sing Sing and assures him no one knows he's with the Marshall's, including the guards and wardens. Shea isn't comfortable with the plan and wants to go back to Maybelle and will work the next case. Ray slugs him telling him he would have gotten tuned up had he attacked a guard and they need authenticity.

Charlie, Erica and Lloyd arrive at a chop shop in New Haven, Connecticut. Lloyd again tries making a joke but Charlie isn't amused. Charlie asks the owner about the Roadster they're looking for and informs him if he helped sell it he'll book him on aiding and abetting. The man nods toward one of the buildings and the team enters to find the Roadster with a man under it. Charlie drops the raised side of the car down and the man starts screaming and, when asked what his name is admits it's Carlos Zepeta. Charlie raises the car and asks where his pals are.

Zapata tells Charlie that because of Rhodes he'll be killed if he tells where they are and goes back inside. Erica thinks that it should appease Wendell that they caught one but Lloyd doesn't think so. She feels she's a necessity to the team, something else he disagrees with as she's just eye candy that can run fast. As they argue, Julie tells them it will be her that is let go since the Marshall's let her go once already. Charlie comes in for some water and Lloyd tells him he's been behind a desk for some time so interrogation might not be his strong suit and he has an idea. Charlie declines Lloyd then comes back and asks what his idea is.

Lloyd enters the interrogation room dressed in a jacket and tie pretending to be Charlie's superior. He tells Charlie to get he and Carlos coffee. When Charlie leaves, Lloyd tells Carlos he needs him to talk but knows he won't rat on Chester Rhodes. He asks what if he took Chester out of the equation by taking him out of Attica. He will set him up at Maybelle with a new name and all he has to do is sign a form. Carlos asks if it is legit and Lloyd tells him it is as legit as anything he can offer. Charlie returns with coffee and Lloyd asks Carlos what he knows. He tells him he was supposed to meet Tran Jun in Maywood, New Jersey at the bus stop on Palmer and Passiac with the money he got for the car. It was Ronald's plan and he told him anything else. Again, Carlos asks if the offer is iron-clad and Lloyd assures him an offer made by a U.S. Marshall cannot be rescinded under the law. When Carlos starts to sign he realizes it isn't a transfer form and Lloyd admits he isn't a Marshall.

At Attica, Shea arrives and walks through the yard. He sees an old friend, Stucky (Cle Bennett) and Stucky introduces him to a member of his crew Dee (Karl Campbell). He tells Shea he always has a place at his table but in Attica, there's one alpha dog and that's him (Stucky). Shea is cool with that and wants to know if Stucky can get him into the infirmary as it's easy work, something both Stucky and Dee agree can be arranged.

Two couples are playing a game in a house when Barnes and Rhodes break in. One of the men tell them to take what they want and Rhodes hits him on the side of the head with the sledgehammer he used to break the door down. Barnes points to an area of the floor and orders Rhodes to start tearing up the boards. Rhodes doesn't want to but Barnes points out he can tear the floor up faster than he can as he's more muscular. Reluctantly, Rhodes sets to work.

In the Attica kitchens, Dee tells Shea he couldn't get him in the infirmary and he's on bucket duty instead. Shea protests it isn't straight up and Stucky warns him to take the job he's offered. Shea and Dee fight, landing Shea in the infirmary.

The team are at the Corner of Palmer and Passaic in Maywood, New Jersey watching from a convenience store when Erica spots Jun. The team exit the store and, when he sees them coming his direction, Jun takes off running. He runs into the street and is hit by a bus leading Wendell to reprimand the entire team back at the office. Ray asks what he would have had them do and Wendell said a real task force would have approached at a perimeter and surrounded the fugitive who would have known escape was futile. Ray informs him they couldn't create a perimeter as three on the team cannot carry weapons. Wendell orders Charlie to get the team in order or he'll do it for him, then leaves the office.

Lloyd and Erica argue again about how should and will be cut. Ray orders them to shut up and look at the passports they confiscated off Jun. They are remarkable quality and they got lucky as they could have carried the escapees anywhere in the world. Julie informs the team she got a hit that a credit card reservation was made under one of Sandy Clemente's aliases at a private air strip in Delaware.

At the private airstrip in Delaware, the team arrives four hours before it opens. Charlie wants them to bunk somewhere then come back after the place opens. They bicker over which of the cons they will bunk with and Ray eventually is paired with Erica and Charlie, Lloyd.

At the hotel, Ray ends a conversation with his daughter as Erica exits the bathroom after a shower. She asks about his daughter but Ray doesn't want to talk about her as he doesn't wear his kid on his sleeve as she does. She tells him she does that way she has her with her and cannot get kicked off the team as she needs to get back to her daughter. Ray tells her they have no idea what Wendell will do and all she can do is focus on her job. Charlie and Lloyd have to share a bed because there weren't any two-bed rooms available. Lloyd, much to Charlie's displeasure, talks a lot. Charlie turns over and sees Lloyd's underwear on a chair and asks why they are there. When he tells Charlie that he "sleeps unencumbered", Charlie jumps out of the bed. Lloyd smiles and wishes Charlie "sweet dreams".

In the Attica infirmary, Shea's fight injuries are attended to. He starts talking with the other inmates in the infirmary about the recent escape. He notices one inmate isn't joining in the conversation and doesn't make a bet as to where the men will end up like the others do. Shea approaches the man saying he should have been in on the escape and shouldn't deny it. He asks the man for information but an intern comes in and takes the man out of the infirmary interrupting the conversation.

Barnes and Rhodes finally break through the floor at the house and find a stash of money. Rhodes looks to the man he hit earlier and picks up the sledgehammer telling Barnes he'll be back. Barnes stops him saying it was bad enough the guard was killed and if they get caught the deaths will be on him (Rhodes) and tells him to think. Rhodes tells him they aren't any different. He steals with his fists and Barnes steals with a pen and that he (Barnes) caused more devastation than he ever did.

While the team is sitting in the car at the airfield waiting for the escapees to show, Lloyd tries his Dennis Miller routine again causing Charlie to tell him to stop it. Erica sees a car drive up and alerts everyone. Ray has Erica and Lloyd get out of the car while he and Charlie remain. Charlie drives the SUV after the car and stops it on the grass. Inside is Clemente. He gets out of the car and tells them none of the other guys are there, just him.

At the office Lloyd crosses off yet another captured escapee but finds that it's almost too easy. Clemente doesn't want to talk to Ray as he knows he'll be killed if he does. A knock on the door draws Charlie out of the room and, after he tells Clemente he's making a mistake and Charlie knocks on the window, Ray leaves the room. Charlie tells him about Barnes and Rhodes entering the house and assaulting the civilian. The man died at the hospital of a brain aneurysm. Charlie tells Ray to do whatever he must to find out what Clemente knows. When Ray asks about the chief director Charlie again tells him "whatever you gotta do". Ray goes back into the interrogation room and draws the shades. He takes a lighter from the table and puts his arm around Clemente's neck. He burns his nose with the lighter until the man talks. He tells Ray he was supposed to fly to some one-horse airfield in Florida where they would all meet and fly to the Virgin Islands.

In the main office, Lloyd tells the team Barnes isn't going to Florida even though Clemente said they were. Lloyd feels Clemente was lied to as part of "Barnes' Strategy of Controlled Chaos" according to a Forbes article. Barnes wants the authorities to think they have him because they have captured two of the men involved in the escape. Lloyd says Barnes is in the northeast since he has them going south. Shea calls Ray with news that he found the man who bailed on the escape. He doesn't know why the man bailed out but he got himself into the infirmary before the escape. Shea thinks the other cons in Attica might know he working for the cops and he wants Ray to get him out. Ray turns to Charlie to tell him they need to get Shea out as his cover might be blown but Charlie says they can't pull him on a "might be". Ray tells Shea to stay safe, find out what the guy knows and they'll get him out as soon as they can. In his cell, Shea makes a rope to use later.

In the prison yard, Shea wraps the rope around Dee's neck and starts hitting him as other inmates, including the one who bailed on the escape, look on. He tells Stucky, who is watching that he ran the syndicate, he ran Sing Sing and now he runs Attica. He hits Dee one last time then frees him from the homemade rope and goes after the man who bailed on the escape. He tells him unless he wants to be next he will answer his questions straight up and asks what he knew causing him to bail on the escape. The man tells Shea Ronald was taking motion sickness pills and he knew that three weeks worth of pills were necessary only if you were going on a boat. He knew Barnes was lying. He couldn't quit the escape so he cut himself to get into the infirmary. Shea calls Ray with the new information and again asks for him to get him out of Attica. Ray hangs up and tells the rest of the team Barnes is taking a boat out of the country.

Barnes and Rhodes are at a storage facility and open a locker. Rhodes goes inside to retrieve something and hears a gun cock behind him. He turns to see Barnes holding a gun. He shoots Rhodes and takes the boat keys from him and leaves.

Julie learns that Barnes had four boats that were all seized and sold at auction. She names off the buyers including Gabe Trokie. Ray recognizes the name and Charlie tells him Trokie was the man who drove the truck through the prison wall for the escape. The boat is registered at Woodmere Docks, Long Island.

The team arrive in Long Island with Lloyd continuing to make jokes. Charlie tells him to shut up and go show the harbor master Barnes' mug shot while he and Ray go to the boat with guns drawn. They don't find him on the boat. Lloyd calls to them and Barnes is standing behind him with a gun to his head. Barnes orders Ray and Charlie to put their guns down and, after a few seconds, they do. Charlie tells Barnes he has no way out as if he comes past them to the boat they'll get him and while he can shoot one of them, he can't get all three of them. Ray tells Barnes they know about his stash and Barnes asks if they want part to let him go. Ray tells him he wants it all. Barnes tells Ray and Charlie to take half the stash now and get off the boat. Once he gets into international waters he'll leave the rest of it on buoy marker 12. If anyone follows him he will burn it all and will be taking Lloyd as insurance. Charlie looks to Ray and says he wants the money first and gets off the boat. He opens his jacket to show Barnes he isn't armed and walks up close to Barnes and Lloyd. When Barnes takes the bag off his shoulder to toss to Charlie, Ray reaches down and grabs a flare and shoots Barnes in the leg with it. Charlie cuffs him to take in.

At the office, an angry Shea arrives immediately telling Charlie there are rules and he should never leave one of his crew hanging. A fight almost starts between Shea and the Marshall's until Wendell arrives. He takes Charlie into the interview to speak with him and Lloyd turns the intercom in the main office on so they all can hear the conversation. Charlie tells Wendell Shea has been having a rough go of it the past 24 hours and Wendell assures him he isn't tossing the gangbanger. Lloyd and Erica are also safe. Wendell wants Ray off the team because he's a corrupt Marshall. Charlie asks for permission to speak freely and tells Wendell he's full of it and his whole issue of coming to check on the cons is smoke and mirrors. Wendell maintains keeping Ray on the team is too much of a liability and Charlie counters that it's his task force and Wendell responds it's his Marshall's service. He warns Charlie he'll be back behind a desk on Monday unless he backs off and changes his tone. Charlie replies that there are rules and he will not leave one member of his crew hanging so come Monday morning he wants Wendell to make sure his desk is waxed and every pencil on it is sharpened because he'd rather be there than to spend another day here with out Ray. If Wendell wants to explain to the feds about breaking up a team that solved a case of five escaped Attica prisoners in a day, fine. But he will get his two cents worth in as well. Wendell smiles and tells Charlie that if it goes south, he won't just nail Ray, it's on him (Charlie) now too. Ray opens the door telling Wendell it's been on him since day one. Once Wendell is gone, Charlie tells the cons to get changed up as the transfer van is waiting then goes into his office. Ray follows him in and thanks Charlie for standing up for him.
Never Fear! The CDC Has Got You Covered!Do you often wonder what you will do if and when the zombie apocalypse occurs? Will you be able to survive or will you fall prey to one of the zombies or, even worse, not be able to make it through because you are unprepared?

Well, put your fears to rest. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have released some tips and guidelines to let you know what you should include in your survival kit and how you should plan to meet up with loved ones.

So, my friends, follow these tips! They could save your life!

The zombie apocalypse guide was originally prepared and posted on the CDC Blog by Dave Daigle, a longtime CDC spokesman. Since it was released Monday, it has drawn so many hits it crashed the CDC blog (I still can't get it to come up!).

Daigle, a 52-year-old father of four is one of several writers on the blog and said he was looking for a way to create interest in preparedness in the wake of the recent disasters in the United States and with hurricane season just around the corner. According to Daigle, "Essentially, the kids and many of the messages are the same. We have had a hard time engaging people."
Season One, Episode Twenty-Four, Oia'i'o (Trust)
Original Air Date: May 16, 2011

Steve receives another envelope containing a brass key that belongs to a piece of antique furniture. Laura Hill is murdered by a car bomb and Five-O begins the investigation. However, as they proceed into the case, shocking details begin to emerge as to who was behind her murder and why. Meanwhile, Danny and Rachel make plans to leave Hawaii and go back to Jersey together.

Danny is in bed watching Blue Hawaii as Rachel sits down on the side of the bed and tells him Stan is coming home tomorrow night and they have to tell him. Chief Mahaka (Kelvin Han Yee) pushes a badge across his desk to Chin Ho telling him to take it. He compliments Chin Ho for how he handled the situation with his uncle and all the false accusations of his having stolen the money. It showed character and now that the the case is closed and his record is cleared the HPD would like to re-instate him as a Lieutenant, a bump in rank from his former position of detective. Chin appreciates the offer but they are doing great work at Five-O and that's his home now. As he's leaving HPD, he passes Sgt. Duke Lukela (Dennis Chun) and another officer. Both men are carrying bags. Chin asks what he has and Lukela explains a rancher found what looked like burnt money on his property. They are going to run the pieces that still have serial numbers and try to figure out where it came from. At Five-O, Chin talks with Steve about what he learned from Lukela. Steve tells him it's impossible as both he and Kono saw the money burn. There is also no hard evidence linking the money back to them and the exact amount was returned to the locker where it was taken from. They both look to the stairs where Governor Jameson (Jean Smart) and Laura Hills (Kelly Hu) are descending. The ladies stop and greet the two officers. When the ladies have gone, Steve asks Chin when he's going to ask Laura out but he laughs it off.

Steve and Chin arrive at Five-O headquarters and Jenna tells Steve he has another envelope delivery. He gets one every Wednesday like clockwork. Inside is a skeleton key. He explains that it drove him crazy as he tried it on every lock in his father's house and his father's old HPD desk and it worked on none of them. Jenna did a little research on the key and found it belongs to a piece of antique American furniture from the 1800's, something his father never owned and Steve suspects it might have belonged to the person his father was investigating.

Outside, Laura continues to update the Governor on crime statistics saying it looks like the Five-O task force is making an impact. The Governor warns they shouldn't sell HPD short as they are doing a great job as well. She takes the opportunity to tell Laura it's perfectly alright for the woman to make the first move and tells her to call Inspector Kelly today. Laura chuckles and goes to her car. When she starts the ignition, the vehicle blows up. Steve, Jenn and Chin Ho run out of the building, guns drawn.

Jenna and Danny survey the car and she believes some detonating cord was used meaning the initial blast came from the wheel itself. Danny hands Steve a small evidence bag with what Kono thinks looks like BB's in it. Steve identifies them as projectiles from a claymore mine. Jenna finds an electric blasting cap wire from a claymore attached to the ignition. She's seen a device like this one before and she knows who set the bomb: the person who killed her fiance and Steve's parents, Wo Fat.

In the office, she explains that the improvised explosive device is one of Wo Fat's preferred methods of execution especially when he's trying to send a message. Danny thinks the bomb seems sloppy but Jenna says it isn't, Wo Fat is just vindictive. When Steve took out Victor Hess and the Yakuza he made it personal. She brings up a visual on the screen and explains how the bomb works. When the ignition engages, approximately 700 steel balls about 1/8 of an inch shoot out at around 4,000 feet per second through the interior of the vehicle. The blast aims square at the drivers face making it a very personal targeted attack. Chin doesn't understand why Wo Fat targeted Laura Hill and not one of them. The first question is where he would have gotten his hands on a claymore mine. Danny asks if they wouldn't have heard about it had one been stolen from a military base but Steve points out that the police would be the last to know when something was stolen from a base. He tells Jenna to double check with all bases on the island to see if any claymores are missing. She also offers to check with contacts she has on the black and gray markets to see if they know anything. He sends Chin and Kono to search Laura's office while he and Danny check her house.

Danny and Steve arrive at Laura Hill's home to find the door open. They draw their weapons and enter the house. They look around and see the house has been tossed but find no one. In one of the pulled-out desk drawers Steve sees a stash of envelopes exactly like the ones he has been receiving the contents of his fathers toolbox in. He takes Laura's appointment book back to the lab for a writing sample.

Charlie Fong informs Steve and Kono it definitely was Laura Hill's writing on the envelopes Steve received. The only difference between the two samples are slant and pressure. She was under stress when she addressed the envelopes to Steve. She used heavy pressure indicating she was very serious about what she was doing and her letters were upright indicating she was trying to cover up her tracks. Kono tells Steve she and Chin searched her office from top to bottom and if she had any more of his father's things they were not there. He doesn't understand how Laura got her hands on the evidence as it was stolen by the Yakuza. Jenna calls Steve with the information that she pulled a serial number off a piece of the claymore and tracked it down. The mine was stolen four years ago from a shipment destined for Iraq and the military held their own investigation. CID investigated a defense contractor by the name of Dale O'Reilly (Val Lauren) but never convicted him or recovered any of the stolen shipment.

In Pearl City Steve and Danny go to a military surplus store where Danny tells Steve this is what it will look like when Steve dies; that will be his heaven. They see Dale and speak to him but the man says Dale isn't there. When Steve brings his photo up on his phone he apologizes saying you never know who will come looking for you. Steve comments like someone in the market for a claymore mine. Dale takes off running with Steve in pursuit. Dale pulls a machete but Steve has his gun drawn and threatens to shoot him in the face if he doesn't put the knife down. Danny says Dale's name from behind him and when he turns sprays him with pepper spray. Steve asks him who he sold the claymore to and Dale screams out the name "Steve McGarrett".

At headquarters, Danny tells Dale he is definitely going down for accessory to murder. He wants to know who told Dale to say the name "Steve McGarrett" but he's unresponsive. Danny shows him a picture of Wo Fat and asks if it was him but Dale doesn't even look at the picture. Danny informs him they tracked down the $50,000 Wo Fat paid him but he still says nothing. Danny proceeds to tell him Wo Fat used the claymore to kill a government official, someone he knew. Dale tells Danny he will not talk to him as Steve enters the room carrying a chair with a computer on it. He raises the screen and Dale's brother, Army Sgt. Gary O'Reilly (Shane Seggar) is on video wanting to speak with Dale. Gary asks Dale what's going on and when he doesn't answer, asks if he's still there. Dale begins crying and Steve closes lowers the computer screen. He tells him the next time he sees his brother in a federal courtroom when he's (Dale) charged with treason and crimes against his country. He will be branded a terrorist and his family will suffer as a consequence. Gary will be disgraced and forced to leave the service all because Dale won't talk.

Jenna congratulates Steve and Danny on their work with Dale saying between the claymore and O'Reilly's testimony they have Wo Fat cold. All they need to do is find him. Chin tells the three that he just got off the phone with the crime lab. They finished processing Laura Hill's house and found prints all over the place. The prints belonged to Steve McGarrett. Steve had never been to her house before that day. Chin tells his boss that someone wants HPD to think he's been there before as he's being set up.

At the Governor's Residence in Honolulu, Steve and Danny arrive as she's finishing a conversation with Laura's parents. She wants them to be able to tell her they have something and they do. Danny says they know who killed Laura and Steve hands her a folder telling her the man's name is Wo Fat and details his connections to the Yakuza. She leafs through the folder as he's talking and asks why they think he's responsible. Danny reveals they have a man in custody who sold Wo Fat the explosives used in the murder. Steve includes that as soon as the man sits with an attorney he will give them a full statement in exchange for leniency. HPD is taking him to jail right now. She congratulates them on their work and asks how close they are to finding Wo Fat. Steve says they aren't close enough and Danny adds they are piecing things together and would like to ask her some questions about Laura. As she's telling Danny Laura never mentioned Wo Fat's name to her, Steve glances to a corner of the room and sees an antique bureau with a locked top drawer. She asks why they think Laura was murdered and Steve says he isn't sure but they're working on it. Steve thanks her for her time and he and Danny get up to leave. She stops Steve telling him this is very personal to her and asks him to find Wo Fat by any means necessary.

Outside the governor's mansion, Danny asks Steve what is with him. Steve doesn't answer right away but turns to watch the guard enter the security code on the keypad. Once he has the code, Danny asks why Steve neglected to tell the Governor about the envelopes. Steve asks if Danny noticed the bureau in her office. Steve thinks the brass key Laura sent him fits that lock and he thinks the Governor is hiding something.

Steve and Danny arrive at Five-O headquarters arguing about Steve's plans to find out about the bureau in the Governor's office. She had a press conference in a couple of hours and he will make his move then. Danny tells the rest of the team Steve's plan to break into the Governor's mansion and everyone agrees with Danny that it is a bad plan. Steve tells the team about the bureau on the Governor's office and Kono asks if the key fits what he thinks he'll find. He tells her the rest of his father's stuff then answers his ringing phone. He hangs up and tells the team the transport taking O'Reilly to prison just got hit.

Steve and Danny arrive and find O'Reilly and both of the officers transporting him dead from a hail of gunfire. An angry Steve asks Danny how Wo Fat knew. Danny pulls him aside to tell him no one but them knew O'Reilly would testify against Wo Fat but Steve reminds him the Governor knew. He reminds him of her having lunch with the head of Yakuza and Steve feels she's in his pocket. Danny says she's the top elected official in the state but he doesn't care. If she caused the death of three people, she goes down. Steve agrees they need rock solid evidence and Danny tells him they have to use their heads. They'll look at all the evidence his father collected and see if it points to the governor. Danny's phone rings and it is Rachel wanting to see him in an hour at Sand Island. Danny goes back to Steve and tells him to go home and get some rest and in the morning they'll look at the evidence and come up with a game plan. Steve agrees but when Danny walks away he takes the key from his pocket and looks at it.

That night, Steve waits for the Governor to leave her residence then goes over the wall and breaks into the house. He goes to her office and tries the key in the lock of the bureau drawer. It opens and inside he finds photographs of Laura putting the envelopes beneath the windshield wipers of Steve's car.

Danny meets Rachel at Sand Island. She tells him she's pregnant and he's definitely the father. He hugs her and she asks how she tells Stan she's leaving him and is pregnant with Danny's child. He offers to go with her but she says it's something she needs to do by herself. Once it's done she wants to leave Hawaii as it's Stan's home, not hers. She checked with the airline and there is a red eye to Newark leaving tomorrow night. When he tells her he'll come with her she says he can't leave as he has a life there. He tells her she and Grace are his life. Where they are is where he wants to be and will be. She asks about his job and he tells her they'll go and get her settled in Jersey then he'll return to Hawaii, wrap up all his cases and that will be it.

Danny opens the door and enters the McGarrett home and seconds afterward, Steve grabs him with his gun raised. Danny asks what's wrong with him and Steve asks if it would kill him to knock on the door. Danny asks what is going on then begs Steve to tell him he didn't break into the governor's house. Steve tells him the key fit and shows him pictures he took on his phone of the photographs he found in the bureau. He tells Danny the Governor found out Laura was sending him pieces of evidence and he believes Laura was taking that evidence from the governor to return to Steve. Danny asks why she did it piece by piece and Steve theorizes she probably hoped the Governor wouldn't notice anything was missing. He shows Danny Laura's datebook and reminds him that every Wednesday he gets something from his father's toolbox. They go back a month and find that every single one of Laura's Tuesday lunches are open. The Governor has a standing lunch with the Chief of Police every Tuesday. Laura used that time to enter the Governor's office and steal a piece of evidence. Steve feels it's his fault Laura is dead because she was trying to help him.

Steve shows the team the pictures he found in the bureau and confirms that he feels the Governor had Laura murdered and Wo Fat made it happen. The team want to bring her in but Danny points out they have no evidence except the photos Steve illegally obtained by breaking into her house and she could claim he planted there. Steve says their focus now is to silently investigate the Governor like his father did. Once they find something, they bring her down and she leads them to Wo Fat. Chin's phone rings and when he answers it Duke asks if he's sure he doesn't want his old job back as it looks like his current one will not exist much longer as a warrant for murder has been issued for Steve McGarrett. Chin goes to Steve to tell him HPD is on it's way to arrest him for killing Laura Hill. They hear the sirens outside and Steve orders them to get everything off the screens and wipe the drives. Chin asks Steve what he's going to do and he replies he has no honest chance of beating it if the Governor is involved. Danny tells him to lay low and the team will get something on the Governor. Steve again tells them to clean house as he's running from the office. Kono works feverishly to remove all evidence as Steve runs from the building. He is stopped in the hall by an HPD officer who orders him to put down his weapon. He starts to get to his knees then stands and fights the officer to make his escape.

Steve drives up to Kamekona's house in a vintage black Mercury Marquis and tells his friend he needs a gun. Kamekona points out he's a parolee and possession of a firearm can send him back to jail and asks where his gun is as he's a cop. Steve tells him he's not a cop anymore and he needs his help. Kamekona takes him to an old truck that is packed with weapons. Steve chooses the weapons and ammunition he wants as Kamekona looks on.

HPD scours Five-O headquarters while the team waits in an office. Chin refuses to stand around and do nothing and leaves the office. Detective Ahuna tells Kono he has orders to bring her in as they have a witness that can place her at the scene of a break in at the HPD Asset Forfeiture Locker and she knows something about some money that went missing recently. Danny tells her to not say anything and he will take care of it and she leavs with Ahuna leaving just Danny and Jenna. He tells her to watch HPD while he find McGarrett before they do. As Danny is leaving headquarters, Kamekona calls him about Steve. He's worried about him as he paid him a visit and loaded up for bear.

Danny races to intercept Steve if he can trying to call him along the way but Steve doesn't answer his phone. Rachel calls Danny to let him know she and Grace are at the airport and asks if everything is fine or if he's having second thoughts. He tells her he loves her, everything is fine and he will meet her at the gate but he has something to take care of.

Steve arrives at the Governor's Mansion and one-by-one takes out the guards as the Governor sits inside working. He enters her office and she tells him she was hoping they were wrong about him. He tells her he didn't kill Laura, she did and if she moves he'll put a bullet in her. She asks what he wants and he takes his phone out, turns it on to record and throws it on her desk. He wants a confession. He wants the truth but she maintains she doesn't know what he's talking about. He tells her he knows everything and she asks why he doesn't just pull the trigger. He wants answers and she tells him to trust her, that isn't what he wants. Her phone rings and he warns her not to answer it. He tells her his father was investigating her and he knows all about her connections to the Yakuza and Wo Fat. He wants to know who gave the order. He knows who set the car bomb that killed his mother and he knows Victor Hess killed his father but he wants to know who gave the order--Wo Fat or her. She tells him he caught the man who killed his father and he took down the men who killed his mother. She gave him the ability to do that. She gave him the immunity and means and she protected him. He states she put the money in the Asset Forfeiture Locker and she admits she was trying to protect him as Five-O has done a lot for the people of Hawaii. He warns her to stop lying and says she created Five-O so she could keep an eye on him so he wouldn't pick up where his father left off. She tells him she's always been loyal to those who have been loyal to her. He asks if that's why she had Laura murdered because she was disloyal and the Governor answers 'yes'.

Wo Fat tasers Steve from behind while the Governor erases her confession from his phone. She asks what they will do as they have to get rid of him. Wo Fat assures her he has everything under control and shoots her with the gun Steve brought there that night then puts the gun in Steve's hand as the sounds of sirens grow closer. Chin arrives with HPD and orders them to set up road blocks and get EMS there and orders other officers to accompany him. Inside the Governor's office, Steve struggles to his feet as Chin and the officers enter the room. Chin orders Steve to put the gun down as Duke confirms the Governor is dead. Steve tells Chin it wasn't him, it was Wo Fat but Chin tells him they checked the house and no one was there. Chin cuffs and arrests Steve and takes him from the Governor's house.

Danny arrives as Steve is being led out of the Mansion and Chin tells him the Governor is dead. As he's being put in the car, Steve tells Danny it was Wo Fat. Danny wants Chin to let him go but Chin says he can't as Steve was the only one there and his gun was just discharged. Danny says they have jurisdiction as they are Five-O and Chin tells him there is no Five-O anymore. Danny asks Chin if he just went back to them after everything they did to him but Chin doesn't answer. Danny knocks on the window next to Steve and tells him he'll get him out of everything and to just hang in there.

Rachel and Grace wait at the airport until the final boarding call is issued. They get on the plane when it's obvious Danny isn't going to arrive.

At the precinct, an elderly woman positively identifies Kono as the woman she saw near the Asset Forfeiture Locker. Ahuna tells her she will have to turn in her gun and badge pending an investigation. Behind them, Steve's mug shot is being taken and he and Kono see one another.
ABC Television has moved back the season two premier of Rookie Blue from 16th June to 23rd June. The show will air Thursday, 23rd June at 10:00 p.m. (EST).

The New York Times ran a report over the weekend that CBS Television had renewed both Hawaii Five-O and Blue Bloods for a second season. Hopefully, official word from CBS will come within the next day or so but given the respectability and reliability of the New York Times, I think it's pretty safe to assume both shows are definitely returning next season.
I'd love to hear what you thought about this post! Nina Proudman is living a happy life in Baltimore, Maryland when she receives word her father has had a heart attack. She returns to Australia and finds she must make a choice about whether to return to the United States or remain in Australia with the family and job she loves. Meanwhile, Billie and Mick are trying to have a baby but receive disheartening news.

Nina looks out upon Baltimore thinking of her life there thus far. She's been in Baltimore for five months, had zero panic attacks, has delivered 68 babies, has 3 1/2 new friends, has had 3 flings with quite nice men (no major sparks but at least the men were unmarried and not her sisters ex and refrained from blowing anything up) and her sexual performance while in the U.S. is an 8. She's grounded, centered and living in the moment confident she can hang onto it when she receives a text to ring home as her father has had a heart attack.

Nina returns to Australia and is met at the airport by Billie. On the way to the hospital, she tells Nina they've done another battery of tests on Darcy and they're just waiting to hear. Their mother is stoic then just falls apart. She's left messages for Jimmy online in hopes of contacting him as he's still overseas. Billie tells her to check out what she's been doing in the backseat. Nina retrieves a folder where her sister has been organizing a family archive containing key documents, photographs and family memories. Billie can't identify one of the photos and makes a note to ask Darcy, something Nina questions if the time is right for or not. Billie advises that Nina doesn't need to return and take charge as she's been the one holding the fort while Nina has been away and Jimmy's been up the Amazon. As her sister is talking, Nina closes her eyes and remembers her life in Baltimore and how she felt while she was there until Billie stops the car hard upon arriving at the hospital.

Nina goes to her father's room and gives him a hug and kiss. He apologizes for her having been dragged back home. He tells her how the heart attack happened. He took Ray to the park and while playing a game with him he played with the other Proudman children the heart attack happened. He asks her to do him two favors: stop Billie hassling him about photos and papers as it's making him feel as if he's already dead and most important, go to Geraldine's house and fish her wedding ring out of the S-bend. She tossed the ring in there 15 years previous after finding out about one of his affairs. Now, he wants to ask Geraldine to renew their wedding vows and he needs the ring. Billie enters the room and straight away asks Darcy to identify some pictures. She tells Nina to find the cardiologist as she should be their medical translator.

Nina leaves the room and sees Cherie in the hall. The two women hug and Cherie tells her Ray is at day care as she's starting back to work. As Cherie is giving Nina a Rescue Remedy, she sees the cardiologist coming down the hall and points him out to her. Nina and Dr. Forbes discuss her father's condition as Billie and Cherie look on. Nina returns to the ladies to tell them it looks like Darcy might need another procedure and Dr. Forbes will make that decision this afternoon. Billie is shocked at how calm Nina apparently is over their father possibly needing a bypass and as she's giving her sister a talking to about her 'detached attitude' Nina zones out to Baltimore once again. Billie asks her what she's doing and Nina tells her she's using her imagination as her ally as she needs techniques to survive re-entering the family. Nina wants to go home and get a shower and meet Billie later to talk properly. Billie warns her sister to pay no attention to the boxes and musical instruments all over her flat as she and Mick have been living there the past few weeks as part of the plan to do things the right way. She can't get pregnant until they have enough of a deposit for their own place so Mick has been taking extra gigs and landscaping jobs and they've sublet his place to some French-Canadian acrobats.

In the lift, Nina contemplates going to obstetrics to visit her old coworkers. The thought of running into Chris Havel crosses her mind but she decides to go anyway. She receives a warm welcome from everyone, including Dr. Klegg. Kim, who is sleeping under the nurses station is awakened to feed her baby. As she's listening to the group talk about Dr. Klegg's willingness to have hormone injections so he could share in the breastfeeding (something he points out isn't beyond the realms of possibility, anatomically speaking), Nina looks around hoping to catch a glimpse of Chris Havel. Zara asks if she's back for good and she explains she's there because her father is sick and has been invited to stay on in Baltimore to participate in some fascinating research projects. She has great options and hasn't decided yet. Klegg tells her it's a shame she missed Chris Havel before he left. He moved to Brisbane last Tuesday as his wife got a job there. Nina, shocked by the news of Chris' leaving excuses herself saying she needs to make a call and goes out to the balcony where she stood so many times to think. Zara follows her out to tell her they all figured Chris had stayed in contact with her and asks if she's alright. Nina says she is and when Zara goes back inside, she tells herself she is and goes back to Baltimore in her mind. She's drawn back to reality by her phone ringing. It's a clearly distraught Jimmy asking about their father. After finding out Darcy is still alive, he asks Nina if she can come downstairs and rescue him. She goes down and finds he owes the cab drive $80, which Nina pays. Jimmy gets out of the cab and gives his sister a hug while a girl he brought home with him gets out and retrieves their luggage. Jimmy quickly helps the girl throw their bags out of the trunk and Nina tells him to go upstairs and she'll take care of the bags. Jimmy kisses his girlfriend then goes up to see his father. The girl introduces herself to Nina as "Tammy".

In Darcy's room, Jimmy reads his father a note he scrawled in the margins of a newspaper after learning of his heart attack, crying as he reads. Darcy tries to get Jimmy to stop reading but he continues anyway. In the hall, Tammy tells Nina how when she saw Jimmy she knew he was the one she was put on earth to be with. Nina stares off into space for a second thrilling Tammy as Jimmy said Nina 'goes into her head', something Tammy thinks is cool because she's doing it right in front of her. Jimmy steps into the hall to tell Nina their father wants to ask her something. Darcy whispers to his daughter to get Jimmy out of there as he's reading him the eulogy from his funeral and not to forget Geraldine's wedding ring. Nina takes Jimmy out of the room telling him their dad needs to rest up.

At a table outside Nina asks how long the two have known one another. Jimmy says he first saw Tammy two weeks ago. She had just broken up with the guy she was traveling with and a week later, the two of them were canoeing through the Amazon when Jimmy got the message about Darcy.

Nina is walking along the sidewalk talking to Billie on the phone when she runs into Mick. The two hug and continue walking. He tells her Billie missed her a lot while she was away almost like when Rocket punishes him for going away. Billie looks up from her work on the family archive and sees Nina and Mick walking together and laughing. The three go to a cafe where Billie begins to nag Mick about not being late for a gig as it pays serious money. When Nina comments that something Mick said wasn't in sarcasm, Billie remarks that Nina of all people is defending Mick. Mick jumps on Billie's comment and she must produce a voucher for him, which he tears up. Billie explains the actions in that they didn't want his sex with Nina to be a constantly oozing sore in the relationship so they developed a containment method. He issued her 10 vouchers. One could be used every time Billie played the "sex with Nina" card against him. After the batch they currently have, there will be no more playing the "sex with Nina" card.

Geraldine arrives in her kitchen to find Nina under the sink digging the wedding ring from the S-bend. She hugs her daughter and asks why she was in the S-bend.

In Darcy's hospital room, Mick is playing the guitar for him as Darcy looks over some of his music. Darcy asks Mick if he kicks the bucket, will he finish writing the songs for him, which he promises he will. Darcy tells him that he knows Billie is hard work but it will be a big relief for him to know Mick will stick with her. Mick tells Darcy he is going to.

Geraldine knows Darcy is after the wedding ring. She thinks the heart attack is her fault as he had chest pains after their last fairly vigorous encounter and she laughed it off as heartburn. Nina assures her mother it isn't her fault. Geraldine begs her daughter to talk Darcy out of making the romantic declaration, something Nina doesn't want to be asked to do. Her mother asks if she's seen Chris Havel yet and Nina informs her he's moved to Brisbane. Geraldine suggests Nina lie down there for a few hours but Nina leaves saying she has something to do.

Nina takes the wedding ring to her father and asks if he should hold off proposing for the moment causing him to ask if Geraldine said something. She tells him he's all churned up at the moment and that she can be the guardian of the ring for now. He gives it back to her and she puts it on her finger.

In the lift, Nina drops the wedding ring and the handsome young man in the lift with her, Dr. Fraser King (Jay Ryan), picks it up. He asks if she's Nina Proudman and when she confirms, he introduces himself. They make small talk about their first weeks on the job and her press around the department. She drops the ring again and she starts talking and cannot stop. She tells him about her parents being estranged, or were since they started having sex again and that her father wants to propose to her mother again. As he compliments a paper she wrote on gestitational diabetes, she imagines him standing in the lift, completely naked and holding a file folder in front of him. When the lift stops, he steps into the hall telling her he'd love to chat with her about the whole Baltimore experience.

She returns to her flat and is met by Rocket. She hears Billie and Mick having sex and, as she walks through the room, hears another couple. She realizes it's Jimmy and Tammy. She thinks about how in the face of death rampant sex is understandable with the urge to connect to some primal force. She goes in to take a bubble bath and wonders who she will cast in her own fantasy. She first thinks of Dr. Andrew Rochford but he's not the right choice as she needs the fantasy to feel more earthy and achievable. The second guy is turned down because if he talks in the fantasy he'll wreck it. Third, Zara shows up and, while Nina would love to make the play, she sadly turns it down. Fourth, she opens the door to find Chris Havel standing there and then immediately closes the door again. The next time the door is opened Dr. Klegg is standing there to let her know the offer is still there. Next, the handsome cardiologist, Dr. Forbes. He's a maybe but it feels wrong since he's her father's doctor. Lastly, she sees Dr. King and he kisses her passionately. She enjoys the fantasy even though it definitely feels wrong as he's too young.

After her bath, Nina looks through the mail and finds a letter from Chris Havel. He didn't want to disappear without an explanation and tells her an opportunity came up for Alice in Brisbane and he decided to take a job there as well. He thought it would be easier for everyone, including her. She'll always be very special to him and he wishes her much happiness. She sits by the window crying as Billie and Mick come downstairs. He's on his way to a gig and he orders him to ring her when he arrives so she knows he made it. She changes her mind and wants him to ring her halfway there but only if he pulls off the road because he can't crash and die on her. Mick kisses Billie and leaves the flat with Rocket. When he's gone, Billie sees Nina has been crying and Nina hands her Chris' letter. She reads over it then tells her sister she should have had sex with Chris a while back and flushed him out of her system as the sex could never have been as good in real life as it would have been in her fantasies. She insists Nina now needs to cut the cord and burn Chris' letter, something Nina doesn't want to do. Nina's phone rings and it is Cherie telling her Darcy had another heart attack.

The girls arrive at the hospital and Nina is met at the lift by Kim. They need her help in obstetrics as they are short on doctors and Dr. King, who is still under review, is the only one there to deal with a breach birth. She drags Nina to the room where she helps Dr. King deliver the baby safely. She then runs to Darcy's room and arrives to find the rest of the family there and Darcy gone. Cherie tells her they've taken him for tests. Billie wishes she hadn't sent Mick away as he really loved Darcy and would want to be there; she needs him to be there. Geraldine runs into the room and Tammy points up saying "he's gone" leading her to think he died. Nina corrects her and comforts her mother. Rocket runs into the room next and Mick follows shortly telling Billie they need to revise the plan as life is short and he should be with her at times like this. Later, Dr. Forbes enters the room to tell the family they cleared the blood clot and, while they were there, managed to stint the other lesion. There's no need for a bypass and Darcy is fine. Everyone is overjoyed and Nina, who is sitting on Darcy's bed, begins to cry uncontrollably. Billie comforts her sister while Sam arrives to lend support to Cherie. A very drugged Darcy is brought back into his room where he takes the opportunity to propose to Geraldine. After a few moments of apparent thought, she eventually agrees.

The family celebrate later at the pub where Nina gets very drunk. Billie again tells her to burn the letter and Nina says she'll file it away in the defunct relationship archive as it doesn't feel right to burn it and throws the letter in the trash. While it isn't as much fun as burning, Billie thinks it's a wise decision. When Billie gets up, Nina pulls the letter out of the trash. She lays down on the couch she's sitting on and decides she doesn't to give up delivering babies and wants to say 'yes' to being sucked back into the Proudman family vortex. Jimmy covers Nina up as she smiles happily thinking "I'm home".

Nina remembers her childhood when her mother went to the doctor because she was pregnant with Jimmy. Geraldine allowed both of her daughters to come into the room and listen to the babies heartbeat. Billie was uninterested but Nina was fascinated and decided right then and there she wanted to be an obstetrician. She relates the story to Frasier King over coffee.

Mick arrives at the doctors appointment at a fertility clinic with Billie. She wants to do the talking as she told them they were trying to get pregnant for six months instead of two weeks so she could get the appointment.

Nina gives Frasier tips on how to introduce himself to women and their husbands. She watches as he confidently walks in and greets a woman there to have her baby.

Billie, as planned, does the talking with the fertility doctor until the lifestyle questions are asked. Neither Billie or Mick answer very well when she asks about exercise. Then, Mick tells the doctor he's on anti-inflammatory medication after breaking his wrists last year. Mick then offers the information he used to smoke joints, a lot of them in his younger days, when she asks if either of them smoke. The doctor suggests they do a semen analysis, something Billie says they can do today.

The woman's labor intensifies and as Cherie is calming her, Nina continues to instruct Fraser. When it's obvious the figures aren't what they should be, Frasier informs the woman they'll need to do a Cesarean and Nina tells her in 15 minutes she'll be holding a perfectly healthy baby. After the procedure, Nina and Cherie step out onto the balcony where Dr. Fraser King is the subject of conversation. Nina thought it would be distracting having a student but she feels she makes better choices knowing he's there and watching. When she's at the store choosing something to eat she, at first, chooses something unhealthy. After imagining the look on Fraser's face at her choice, she puts it back and chooses something healthy.

The next morning, Fraser catches up to Nina as she's arriving at work and gushes to her over a case he is working on. When he walks away, Zara and Kim both comment to her that he really wants her.

Mick starts working on collecting the sample for the fertility doctor when he's interrupted by a call from Billie. She hangs up and he continues and is interrupted yet again by Jimmy and Tammy at the door. They want to stay there but he tells them 'no' and goes back to what he was doing.

Nina is having a meal with Cherie and Sam who are arguing about the fact Sam wants Cherie and Sam to move in with him. Cherie turns her attention to Nina telling her there were some major 'love eyes' going from Fraser that morning. Nina changes the subject back telling Cherie it would be good to tell Darcy that night she and Sam want to move in together.

Billie arrives at Geraldine's house to take Darcy to the cardiologists. Darcy suggests that the family sing seven songs, as a family, covering the history of the marriage at the re-commitment ceremony. Billie asks her parents if they were heavy pot smokers when they were young. Darcy says he didn't care for it but Geraldine liked the occasional smoke which angers Billie.

Mick gets ready to take the sample back to the fertility clinic but his vehicle won't start. He calls Billie who can't come get him and tells him to run the sample to the clinic. Mick, who is wearing thongs, does as she instructs.

At Dr. Forbes' office, he needs another 10 minutes before their meeting. While he's out, Billie calls Mick. He answers but can only breathe heavily from all the running he did. She asks if he made it but he cannot answer. She asks him to give her one big wheeze if he made it, which he does.

Fraser and Nina talk on the balcony at the hospital and he talks to her about how everyone told him being in obstetrics would kill off his love life. He comments on her as she's beautiful, crazy smart and could have anyone she wanted. He asks if she'd wished she'd chosen something a bit saner. She sometimes does but there are moments at work that make her remember why she loves her job. He tells her that Kim and Zara re-enacted Nina's relationship with Chris Havel for him. She tells him hooking up with someone from work can bring up a whole set of problems and he asks what if she's really smart about it, which she thinks sounds like a pick up line. Her phone rings saving her from the conversation. It's Billie calling to say she's found Nina's future husband. Dr. Forbes is the male version of her and obsessed with her and she's arranged a date for he and Nina and she and Mick for the following day.

At Nina's flat, Billie points out what she should wear for the date. She explains how Dr. Forbes is the perfect man for her. The first sign was when she saw an owl on a shelf behind his desk. Then, during the checkup, he asked detailed questions about the family to suss out if Nina is single. She implied subtly Nina is unattached. Finally, she asked him to dinner the next night with she, Mick and Nina. When he got nervous, stumbled and used more words than necessary Billie knew it was perfect.

Darcy is playing with Ray at Geraldine's when Cherie chooses to tell him Sam wants her and Ray to move in with him. Darcy gives his blessing while Geraldine sits outside smoking.

Billie arrives home to find Mick watching television with his bandaged feet up. He tells her the swimmers are in and they should get a call in a couple of days. Billie informs him they're having dinner tomorrow night with Nina's future husband. He picks her up and carries her upstairs.

Nina and Fraser are walking and having a coffee talking about work when Dr. Forbes runs up to speak with Nina. Fraser introduces himself to Dr. Forbes who mentions the date they have that night. On the obstetrics floor, Fraser questions Nina about not recommending workplace dating. She explains that it isn't a date as Dr. Forbes is her father's cardiologist and technically, they don't work in the same place. Cherie comes out of a woman's room and brings Nina and Fraser up to date on the patient. She then tells them she saw bruising on the woman's back when she was changing into the gown and the couple are hardly speaking. Fraser asks Nina what they do and she answers their first priority is to deliver a healthy baby for now they focus on that. They enter the room and Nina speaks with the woman but her husband answers all the questions.

At the pub, Mick receives a call from the fertility doctor. She wants to see both he and Billie to discuss the results of the semen analysis. She thinks it might be good to speak with them individually at first and she prefers to discuss things in person.

Fraser tells Nina the bruises visible through the back of the gown are really bad. He asks if they call in the social worker but she tells him they can't do that yet because before anyone can do anything Kate needs to acknowledge the bruises were inflicted so they are going to wait for the husband to leave the room. The two of them will leave and since Kate has spent the most time with Cherie they will see if she will open up to her. Fraser is clearly unhappy with how the situation is being handled. Later, Cherie tells them she got Kate to speak but she claimed she was getting out of the bath, slipped and hit her back on the taps. Nina goes into the room and sits down with Kate telling her she's in a safe place and they're all there for her; she's there for her if she needs any kind of help. Kate tells her she just wants to have the baby leaving Nina few options. Nina goes back into the hall and tells Fraser they need to prep for an epidural. He's angry they can't deal with the situation head on as he knows the woman is being abused. Her husband walks up behind Fraser and asks if everything is alright and Fraser comments 'you tell me, mate'. Nina pulls Fraser away telling him to go do rounds as he's no longer part of the delivery and goes back to the room with the husband.

When Nina takes Fraser home that evening she gets out of the car and tells him she understands his feeling of wishing he could do more. But, they always can't do more. He starts to walk away and she asks what he would have done as she genuinely wants to talk it through. He admits he doesn't know. He's still angry and comments he didn't know they also had to protect wife bashers as well as deliver the baby. He starts to walk away but turns back and apologizes and takes her into his arms and kisses her. She pushes away and he tells her she knocked him out the first second he saw her and every day it gets more and more intense. He takes her in his arms again and kisses her and she returns the kiss. She pulls away citing her date with her father's cardiologist. Fraser asks how they are leaving things but she only tells him she'll see him at work.

Billie arrives home from a run and starts to run upstairs but Mick stops her. She asks why he isn't changed for their dinner date and he tells her he was called into the fertility place with his results and they've got problems--he's got problems.

Nina arrives for dinner with Dr. Forbes and finds Billie and Mick aren't there. The two of them talk and have a drink and Nina and thinks Dr. Forbes reminds her of her when she likes someone. They talk and realize they have a lot in common. She calls Billie to see why she's late. Her phone rings and when she answers it it is Dr. Fraser saying he's at home and can't stop thinking about her and asks if she can come over. She almost drops the phone and turns to see Billie and Mick walking in. The four sit down at the table and Mick and Billie are clearly having a problem. Billie starts to cry. She gets her composure and starts making conversation again. Mick tells the others they just found out he has dud sperm, drawing a reprimand from Billie. Billie starts crying again and Nina comforts her while Dr. Forbes watches the scene before him. Nina's phone rings and she's called into work by Zara. Dr. Forbes walks Nina to the hospital and he asks her how long she thinks she'll stick with obstetrics as most change fields. He comments she must get tired of screaming, hysterical women.

Billie confesses to Mick that she had two abortions when she was 17 and 19 and she's always feared someone would tell her she can't get pregnant. Mick asks if his problem is a deal breaker for them and she tells him the point is they both have pasts and she loves him.

Dr. Forbes tells Nina he'd love to catch up again when they can find a night without a birth or family crisis, something she comments counts out most nights for her. He sympathizes with her on the family front as he has a bi-polar brother, an alcoholic father and a mum who was a 1970's bikini model. He strictly limits seeing them to Christmas, Easter and his mum's birthday. When they arrive at the hospital, he asks if she knows when she might be free. She thinks that while he's charming, rich and interesting he's dismissive of obstetrics and doesn't like crazy families. She says she might have to let him know and they part ways. She enters the hospital and goes about her routine thinking of what she will say to Ben Forbes.

The team is called in when a dangerous psychiatric inmate escapes during a field trip to a medieval-themed restaurant. As the man is a known killer, the team knows they must work fast before he can kill again. When they learn he has abducted a young television host time starts running out even faster. An old face returns to the Breakout Kings to help them track the inmate through the Adirondack's. Erica has flashbacks of the area where they are searching for the inmate as it is where she sought vengeance on one of the men who murdered her father. Meanwhile, Charlie's father's watch is missing and he blames one of the cons for taking it.

At Sunnybrook Psychiatric Detention Center in New Hampton, New York, several inmates are lining up next to a bus for a field trip to Chivalry Castle, a medieval-themed restaurant. When the woman in charge of them, Paula Berry, asks why the are going on the trip one of the inmates, Kenny, raises his hand. He answers because they listen and have good behavior. She asks why Todd and Phillip aren't going with them and Kenny again raises his hand to answer because they didn't listen and had bad behavior. She tells them field trips can be taken away so they must follow the rules then allows them to board the bus. One of the orderlies, Victor, stops an inmate, Bennett Ballester, telling him he can't take the stuffed animal he is holding with him. Bennett begs Paula and she tells Victor it's alright and to let him go.

At Chivalry Castle in Hudson, New York, Paula tells the inmates any misbehavior will result in the loss of all privileges and they'll end up in the isolation room. She thanks an employee, a Green Knight (Sean Delaney), of Chivalry Castle for opening early for them. She finds Bennett standing next to the cage of a falcon petting the stuffed animal he is carrying and looking at the bird with fascination. She asks if he likes the bird and he says only "grandpa". She asks "grandpa, what?" and he replies "grandpa painted" leading her to understand that his grandfather painted birds and asks him if it is a nice memory which he admits it is. She pats him on the shoulder then walks away to check on the other inmates. He watches her leave then turns back to face the falcon. He turns his stuffed animal upside down and removes a tool from it.

The Knights are on their horses in the center ring and the jousting show begins. The inmates watch and cheer as the nights joust with one another. Paula notices Bennett isn't there and Victor goes to find him. Bennett is using the tool he had in his stuffed toy to pick a lock to the staff weapons room. When Victor finds him, he tells him he's in big trouble if he doesn't come to him right now. He gets the door open and retrieves a sword which he uses to kill Victor.

At the office, as Ray briefs the team on Bennett Ballester, Charlie is in his office rifling loudly through the drawers of his desk drawing the attention of everyone in the main room. Shea comments that the inmates were given a day trip and Lloyd points out integrating patients with the outside world is a standard and often successful practice when you're working toward rehabilitation. In this case, it was clearly very unsuccessful. Julie adds that the CCTV system at the Castle showed Bennett leaving the facility and Victor's wallet was missing. Lloyd asks if Bennett has killed before and Ray confirms it. Julie provides the information that Bennett was in for ten years for killing a local newscaster he was obsessed with. She was engaged to be married. Her body was never found but her DNA was pulled from beneath Bennett's fingernails. Lloyd begins telling the group about erotomania, a common trait in stalkers, when Charlie comes out of his office and looks strangely at everyone in the room. When Lloyd stops talking, Charlie tells him to continue. Julie tells them Bennett should be in maximum security prison for life but his lawyer proved he was unfit to stand trial due to a history of comorbidity. Lloyd asks Charlie if he's alright and he quietly tells Lloyd to finish. Lloyd explains that comorbidity means that Bennett is "a whole cocktail of crazy". Erica says there is evidence in the files of a diary Bennett's lawyer had suppressed during the competency hearing and Lloyd says he needs to see it, something Ray tells Julie to look into. Charlie continues looking strangely at the cons as Shea says the only family is Bennett's brother and they should talk to him. When Charlie gives Shea a strange look he asks him "dude, what?" leading Charlie to tell the team he's most angry at himself for actually thinking he could trust the cons. He tells them his father's watch is missing and it better be on his desk by the end of the case or heads will roll. Lloyd denies taking it and points toward Erica who also denies it as does Shea. Charlie maintains he doesn't care who took it, he just wants it back. He tells Ray to continue. Ray and Lloyd will be going to Sunnybrook to find more information on Bennett and Julie should call in his brother for Charlie to interview.

Ray and Lloyd arrive at Sunnybrook and Lloyd finds the place undeniably fascinating while Ray doesn't like being there. Ray asks him if he took Charlie's watch and he flatly denies it. Paula walks up to them and introduces herself. She tells them Bennett was an ideal patient who was on a good combination of meds. Lloyd points out that his actions from that day suggests he had been off the meds for quite a while without her knowledge. She asks how he knows so much and he tells her he has a PhD in behavioral psychology. Ray wants to look over Bennett's room and see copies of his files and notes. Lloyd asks her about the history of fixations he saw in the files and asks if he was fixated on anything recently. When she admits she doesn't know as he had them fooled he asks if Bennett was close with any other patients.

Lloyd sits down to talk with Bennett's friend, Teddy. He skips his usual talking to win Teddy's confidence and instead bribes him with sweets. Teddy says "meow time" and points to the television. Lloyd gives him the suckers and gets up.

Bennett is in a shop buying ropes and survivalist gear. His last choice of purchases is a 19-inch stainless knife. He surveys the knife then reaches into his pockets and pulls out two handfuls of money and gives them to the man behind the counter. He picks up his purchases and leaves the store without getting his change.

As Bennett's brother, Calvin arrives at the office, Charlie asks Julie if she's had any luck getting a hold of the diary. She's on hold with the lawyer's assistant at that moment. Charlie points Calvin toward the interview area and tells them when he comes back, they better have a lead. Erica says she thinks Lloyd took it and Shea says she might have as he knows he (Shea) didn't take it and he doesn't think Lloyd has the gumption to steal the watch. Julie finally gets to talk to the lawyer and informs him his client is a fugitive and they don't have the time to get a warrant as it could take days. When he hangs up on her she tells Shea she might need a favor.

In interview, Calvin tells Charlie he's ashamed to share the same last name with Bennett and if he knew where he was he would tell. Charlie asks why he came in to see him and Calvin says it's because he asked. Charlie points out that ten years ago when Bennett killed the newscaster no one in his family cooperated when he didn't mind sharing the same last name with his brother. Yet, today, he makes the trip from mid-town. Angry, Charlie stands and tells Calvin he doesn't have time to waste and asks where Bennett is. Calvin swears he doesn't know and admits he should have told the police ten years ago that Bennett would disappear into the Adirondack's behind their house for days and sometimes return with a backpack filled with dead birds.

In the main room, Julie is searching for "meow time" and is having trouble finding a match. Ray says that the session notes are useless as Bennett was running game on the entire facility. Charlie enters the room and asks Julie to get him a map of the southern Adirondack's above Northville. Upon hearing the location, a memory is triggered in Erica's mind. Charlie tells them about Calvin giving him information that Bennett is obsessed with survivability. Ray tells Charlie they need Gunderson but Charlie refuses. Erica asks who Gunderson is and Lloyd tells her he was one of the first Breakout Kings until Charlie caught him stealing an eating utensil. Ray points out Gunderson is a survivalist who grew up in the Adirondacks and is tailor-made for the case. Charlie again refuses. Julie has found "meow time" and tells the team it is the signature greeting of the host of the children's program "Goodnight Kitten", Debbie Myers. Shea puts a picture of Bennett's first victim, the newscaster, next to a picture of Debbie. The two women have a striking resemblance. Lloyd says he'd feel way more comfortable if they let Ms. Myers know what is going on immediately.

At her home, Debbie Myers goes to answer the incessantly ringing doorbell. Bennett is standing there with flowers. When she asks if they are for her he says "hello, kitten" making her immediately uncomfortable. She tries to shut the door and run but he manages to get inside the house. He puts a bag over her head and drags her away.

The team arrive at the house and find that her car is missing as well. Erica has been looking through Debbie's closet and believes Bennett took her ski jacket and hiking boots. When Charlie comments he's heading into the Adirondack's, Erica again zones out. He asks if she has something to say she tells him 'no'. Charlie finds wedding invitations as Debbie was supposed to be getting married that Saturday.

At the Law Offices of Phillip Kincaid, Esq., in Brooklyn, New York, Shea and Julie arrive and speak with Kincaid. Kincaid asks Shea if he needs help with some criminal issues and he tells him he does because he's heard Kincaid was one of the top criminal defense attorneys around and he knows a lot of guys who has used him. Kincaid tells him it's a $5,000 retainer up front and Shea looks to Julie. Kincaid asks who she is and she tells him. Immediately, Kincaid tells them the diary, as she chooses to call it, has the words "dear counselor" written on the first page and "sincerely, your client" written on the last. Everything in it is attorney/client privileged correspondence and tells them to leave until they have a subpoena. Shea says he doesn't think so and tells him Julianne pulled up his court records and he personally knows ten guys who have used him. Six worked for him, one is his second cousin and they all owe him. Kincaid asks who he is and Shea says he's going to pull three names from a hat then have those three names cut a deal saying Kincaid recommended the perjure themselves for lighter sentences. He's choosing three because it will ensure Kincaid will get his ticket punched and end up in Sing Sing where he (Shea) will make sure the right booty bandits run a train on him. His other option is to give Julie the diary. Kincaid chooses the latter.

Bennett stops Debbie's car on a deserted road in the woods and takes her from the trunk. He takes the bag from her head and tells her she can come up front. As he's putting her in the back seat, she asks who he is and what he wants. She gets into the car and touches a bag he has in the backseat. He cautions her to be careful or she'll crush it. She looks in the bag and sees her wedding dress.

Charlie arrives at the office and Ray tells him they have something. Gunderson is sitting there and smiles at Charlie as he walks in. Ray tells him Gunderson used the information given them by Calvin to narrow down the location in the Adirondack's to locate Bennett. Ray insists they aren't equipped for that sort of pursuit and since Gunderson grew up in the mountains, they need him. Charlie still maintains they can do it with the use of technology and even K-9 units but Ray says they don't have the time as the girl will be dead. Gunderson tells Charlie if Bennett is a true survivalist he will take the abandoned trails which are hard to find and aren't on the hiking map. Erica's memories come back again and she sees flashes of herself hiking through the woods with a man. Julie and Shea return with the diary and he says it looks like a mouse on mushrooms wrote it and throws it to Lloyd. Charlie asks Ray what deal he made with Gunderson. Ray promised him all the ribs he could eat, a 12-pack of beer and copy of Hustler. Charlie consents that Gunderson can take them to the trail head but that's it. If it looks promising, they call the local fire team from special operations, with which Ray agrees. Charlie tells Julie to call the ranger on duty to make sure he meets them there. Lloyd is to stay at the office and go through the diary as they'll have satellite phones and will be in constant communication. Before they leave, Charlie warns Gunderson that one wrong or stupid move means he will bury him up there.

Bennett stops the car at a locked gate. He gets out to try and open it and a ranger's truck pulls up behind him. He orders Debbie to be quiet and the ranger tells him the road is closed. If he wants to hike there he needs to get a permit and leave the car at the park entrance. Bennett comments that rangers don't come up there this time of year and the ranger tells him he saw his car pull off the side of the road and again tells him to get a permit so he doesn't have to cite him. When the ranger's phone rings, Debbie starts beating on the back glass and screaming 'help' leading Bennett to attack the ranger with his knife.

In Adirondack National Forest, Charlie stops the SUV behind the ranger's truck. The team get out and survey the area. Shea finds blood on a leaf and Erica calls them over to where Bennett has hidden Debbie's car beneath some limbs. In the trunk, they find the body of the ranger. Charlie says he'll call in the fire team and they have to gear up. Gunderson points out the old tire tracks and tells them this is prime crop area for pot growers. Shea reminds him the feds cleaned that up but Gunderson says a lot of the traps they set in the area to protect their crops are still primed. He tells Charlie he doesn't need to wait for backup. He'll get him where he needs to go if he trusts him. Shea urges Charlie to not take the cuffs off Gunderson because if they go up in the mountains with him he's the only one coming back. Charlie assures Shea that isn't happening. Ray again insists they can't wait and he will personally watch Gunderson. Gunderson again tells Charlie he can trust him. Erica steps forward and tells them they don't need Gunderson as she knows the area like the back of her hand. She chased a bail jumper who allegedly dumped a body up there.

Charlie chains Gunderson to the SUV and pairs the team off. He and Shea will travel together and Ray and Erica together. Gunderson asks Charlie if he's really going to bet on Erica over him and Charlie confirms he is. Gunderson says they'll die up there and he'll laugh about it.

As they are walking, Debbie asks Bennett what a grown man is doing watching a children's show. He tells her the show isn't a children's show and forces her to sing the theme song. When she starts saying "goodnight" to different names, she asks what his name is. Angrily, he tells her she knows and says 'Bennett'. He tells her he loves her and when he turns around, she pulls one of her fake fingernails off and drops it on the leaves.

At the office, Lloyd is going over Bennett's diary which is full of pictures of falcons, and drawings of boxes and the number two. Julie says she can't make heads or tails of it and asks him if he'd like to have some coffee. He is absorbed in the diary and doesn't answer. He tells her schizophrenics who take their fixation to the next level sometimes latch onto symbolic element and he has found "RBF" all over the diary. Julie asks what it means and he looks at one of the drawings of the falcons and tells her it's a bird and asks her to pull up everything there is on the red-bellied falcon.

In the woods, Shea tells Charlie, man-to-man, that he didn't take his father's watch. Charlie doesn't want to hear it and again tells him as long as the watch is back on his desk by the end of the tour he won't ask any questions. Shea slips on some leaves and some cans fall from a tree. Charlie draws his gun and comments it's a homemade alarm system and he wonders what else they planted. They continue climbing as Charlie's phone rings. Lloyd tells him the red-bellied falcon nests at 5,000 feet and there is only a quarter-mile section of the mountain at that elevation. Charlie will notify Ray and he wants Lloyd to update him on anything else.

A strange animal sound catches Erica and Ray by surprise. She tells him it's a fisher cat and nothing to be worried about. He asks if she studied the mountains when she was chasing the bail jumper and she confirms she did. He grabs her hand and pushes her coat sleeve up exposing the marks on her wrist and asks if it has anything to do with the guys who killed her father that she allegedly made disappear. She has a memory of firing a gun and just says "allegedly" to Ray. She looks down and sees the fingernail Debbie dropped. She tells him to call Charlie as they're on the right trail and she continues walking.

Bennett points out a red-bellied falcon nest to Debbie as they are walking. He tells her when the birds mate, they do so for life. He looks behind her and asks "do you remember their eggs? Those pretty eggs?". He continues talking to someone she cannot see causing her to ask him who he's talking to as there's nobody there. He tells her she sang to him on her show and said his name. She looked right into the camera and said "goodnight, Bennett" then went off to marry him. He jerks her to the forest floor. She pleads with him saying there are lots of little boys out there named "Bennett" and if she said his name before it didn't mean anything. He tells her they will be together forever and jerks her to her feet so they can continue walking.

Debbie is tied to a tree and asks Bennett what he will do with her and to just let her go. When he doesn't answer her, she yells for him to kill himself. He walks to her and takes out a knife and cuts the palm of her hand then cuts his and presses their hands together. Their blood is the same now and they belong together. He looks to the side and angrily tells an invisible person not to talk about her like that. He tells them she just doesn't understand yet and gets up and walks away.

Julie asks Lloyd why Bennett is so obsessed with birds and he explains Bennett will "marry" Debbie than rape and kill her. In his mind, the woman he loved betrayed him so he will try to possess Debbie with the same ritual. He has an intricate ceremony laid out and will try to do it at a specific time. He points out the "2's" on several pages of the diary and the drawings of cubes. He realizes they symbolize "two cubed" and Julie says "eight". The ritual will happen at eight o'clock and it's now seven-thirty. Lloyd calls Charlie with word that Bennett's ceremony will be happening at eight giving them a half hour to save Debbie. Julie remarks to Lloyd that he is amazing.

Debbie hears a helicopter overhead but Bennett tells her they can't see her and she should stop crying as it's disgusting. He shows her what she looks like in a mirror, gives it to her and tells her to clean herself up as today is her wedding day.

As Ray is receiving word from Charlie about the time of the ceremony, Erica again remembers walking through the woods with a man. She tells him he took her father from her and he tells her he wasn't the only one and didn't pull the trigger. She tells him it's four down and two to go then shoots him. Ray snaps her out of her thoughts and urges her ahead. She climbs over a fallen tree and Ray throws his pack to her. When he climbs through the limbs of the tree, he steps into a bear trap. Debbie, still hearing the helicopter, tries using the sunlight to reflect off the mirror in hopes someone will see it and come to her rescue. As Erica is trying to free Ray, she sees the glint from Debbie's mirror. Ray orders her to leave him and go check it out. Bennett turns and looks to Debbie who hides the mirror. Erica runs toward the glint and sees Debbie alone. She cautiously goes to her and is able to cut her loose before Bennett comes up behind her. Erica yells for Debbie to run, which she does. She tells Bennett it is over and as she's backing away from him holding her knife, she trips over a rock. He raises his own knife ordering her to drop hers, which she does.

Charlie and Shea hear Debbie crying and soon see her running through the forest. Charlie identifies himself as a Marshall and she tells him Bennett has got her. Charlie figures out it is Erica he has and asks Debbie where she ran from. She points behind her telling him about five minutes that way. Charlie orders Shea to cut Debbie loose and he goes to save Erica.

Bennett has Erica dressed in Debbie's wedding gown and tied to a tree. She is able to free her hands and as she's trying to make her escape he sees and stops her. He tells her she ruined everything and puts his knife to her throat. In the office, Lloyd notes it's eight o'clock and he hopes they got to Debbie. Bennett tells Erica the most painless way to kill an animal is by cutting off their head quickly. If the knife isn't sharp enough, cut the throat at the carotid artery and press on the neck so the blood drains quickly. Charlie, his gun raised, yells to Bennett wanting to talk. Bennett tells him Erica took away what was his. Charlie tells him Calvin wants him to come back home but Bennett says he is home. Charlie orders Bennett twice to put the knife down. Bennett looks overhead at one of the choppers flying over then back to Erica and tells her to 'say goodbye'. She yells to Charlie who shoots Bennett.

The team arrive back at the office where Lloyd and Julie are both asleep. Charlie tells Julie to get Ray to a hospital and the cons to get changed up so he can take them back to Maybelle. Julie tells Ray Debbie is with her fiance and is doing fine and Gunderson wants to know when he can get his ribs, beer and Hustler. Lloyd congratulates Charlie on his marksmanship. Erica touches the marks on her wrist with a faraway look in her eyes bringing a knowing look from Ray. He goes into the restroom to get a look at his leg. While in there, he finds Charlie's watch on top of the paper towel dispenser. He takes it into Charlie's office and hands it to him. Charlie asks who had it and Ray tells him the paper towel holder. Charlie remembers taking the watch off and leaving it there when he cleaned his shirt. Ray tells him not to say anything to the cons and it will make him lose credibility. After Ray has left, Charlie goes out to where the cons are and tells them he misplaced his watch and no one took it, but he doesn't actually apologize. When he walks away, Lloyd asks if he just heard what he thought he heard and Shea remarks "I think so". As they are walking to the elevator, Lloyd mutters he's pretty sure he didn't hear an apology.
Smith's The Secret Circle in Development for the CW NetworkI've been an L.J. Smith fan for a very long time. I remember purchasing and reading The Secret Circle when it was originally published in 1992. I bought the paperbacks and had to wait for the final book in the series, The Power, to be released. The novels were so engaging and well-written that waiting for that last book was tough!

I was thrilled when the CW turned Smith's popular novels The Vampire Diaries into a series. Kevin Williamson and the fine cast and writers have turned an already amazing series of novels into a stellar television series. I was surprised the same hadn't already been done for The Secret Circle. Imagine how pleased I was to hear news that plans were moving forward to finally do just that!

Kevin Williamson is one of the names behind the soon-to-be series, The Secret Circle. He has been hard at work on writing and developing the series, the pilot of which has received excellent reviews in early screenings. If the show is picked up (which hopefully it will be--and most seem to think it definitely will be), it could enter the CW lineup in September. Vampire Diaries fans needn't fear Williamson will trade in vampires for witches. He'll still be firmly at the helm of the popular series which is getting ready to embark on its third season.

The Secret Circle focuses on Cassie Blake, a young girl who moves to New Salem with her mother. Shy Cassie soon learns that she is a witch. She meets other teenagers in New Salem who are also witches and are part of a secret coven, the Circle. Cassie struggles with her friendship with Diana, the covens leader, a rivalry with another of the Circle's witches, Faye and Cassie's love for Adam, Diana's boyfriend.
The series is being developed and executive produced by Kevin Williamson. Andrew Miller, Sarah Fain, Leslie Morgenstein, Elizabeth Craft and Gina Girolamo also serve as executive producers.
Season One, Episode Twenty-Two: The Blue Templar
Original Air Date: May 13, 2011

The Reagan family organizes to deal with the Blue Templar and find out who really killed Joe Reagan. Meanwhile, Jamie, who Frank doesn't want involved in the Templar investigation so as not to draw attention is assigned to protective duty to a young woman who was the victim of an attempted kidnapping.

Jamie and Danny take the news of Joe's involvement in the investigation of the Blue Templar to their father, Frank. Jamie tells his father, grandfather and brother what he's learned from conducting his own investigation and the evidence Lydia Gonsalves had assembled regarding Joe's death. She had arrived on the scene, Detective Malevsky had killed the two dealers then told her they shot Joe. She didn't believe Malevsky so the Blue Templar saw her to be a liability. Frank asks why Jamie didn't bring everything to the family when it started and he tells his father Joe kept it from him and he thought it was something Joe had left for him to carry on and he wanted to honor him. He admits he's in over his head now.

Two men are loading money into bags as two others stand guard. Outside, two men enter the building through the front while one goes up the fire escape.

Henry Reagan explains that after Serpico and the Knapp Commission and the static that came with it, the Blue Templar was started as a way to police the police. They thought it would be good to have a band of brothers keeping lookout from the inside. For a while, it served a purpose. There was a good man in IA who appreciated what they were trying to do but then after a while, the core group retired and the Templar became just a group telling war stories about the bad old days. Frank admits he was never much of a joiner. When Danny was tapped, it was to get new blood in the Templar. He thought they could do some good again but it dissolved into a bunch of cops sitting around strip clubs where the girls knew every cops name and the bill for the drinks never showed up so he got out quick.

The men continue to load the money under the watchful eyes of those standing guard. The door of the apartment bursts open and two men with guns raised enter, one yelling "Police! Don't move!" Other men enter the apartment and shots are fired killing all the men loading the money and those standing watch. The shooters grab the bags of money and leave the apartment.

When Frank began his tenure as Commissioner, he conducted a full audit of all the departments fraternal organizations with IA, including the Blue Templar. He never saw anything that would cause concern much less, alarm. He saw what he was supposed to see. He asks Jamie who his FBI contact was and is told it was a female agent, Henderson who made it sound like Joe was working with them. Frank then asks if anyone from IA was involved and Jamie tells him Lieutenant Bello interviewed him when he was seen in Chinatown with Henderson and that she came forward and backed up his story. Frank tells Jamie he should have come to him right away. Danny's phone rings and he tells the caller to go ahead and he'll meet them there.

Danny arrives at the scene of the shooting to find Jackie there. She tells him all four slain men were packing and none managed to get off a shot. Two ear witnesses heard some commotion then a lot of gunfire in a short amount of time. Both witnesses said they heard voices shouting 'police, don't move'. Danny looks outside on the fire escape and finds a kevlar glove, same as the police use. That, combined with the police commands lead him to theorize dirty cops. He cites an incident in Brooklyn South last weekend and that there might be a pattern. He tells her to canvass the building while he calls Frank to tell him they might have stumbled upon something there.

The next day, Frank is in his office with Don Sperling (Ezra Knight) where he is being told one of the men killed in the previous nights ambush was a confidential DEA informant and was also in business with some of his detective. Frank asks for proof and is told copies of the wire records are being made even as they speak. They have a voice but no name to go with it. Just one voice on tape. Frank asks how much money they are talking about and is told given the chatter leading up to the event he estimates around $12 million in cash and another twelve in pure heroin. Frank then asks what the DEA's stance is. They have almost two years in the operation and would rather not come out of the shadows for some rogue cops. They are pulling all their guys out clearing the way for Frank's department to move ahead. Don apologizes to Frank saying he realizes this is the worst kind of news someone in his position can get. Frank disagrees saying it's a close second.

That night, Danny brings his father, Jamie, Henry and Erin up to date on the facts of the shooting. Henry asks if Frank is talking to IA. He isn't, not even Bello. Frank trusts Alex but he won't know if the Templar has eyes and ears there and since Jamie was there on an un-related incident, he doesn't want to set off alarms. Erin points out that Frank cannot handle the situation on his own and he says he isn't as he has her and Danny. He asks if they can trust Jackie and Danny confirms they can. Jamie asks what about him and his father tells him he has to go about his business like nothing is out of the ordinary since they already have eyes and ears on him. Erin brings up the monumental task ahead of them and asks if there's anyone else they can trust. Frank says there is and he'll bring them in at the right time but they don't know how high up or how deeply the infection is at this point. For now, the operation stays in house, in the Reagan house.

While on his beat, after giving directions to a tourist couple, Jamie sees a woman running down the middle of the busy street yelling for help. He runs to her and pulls her out of harms way to the sidewalk where she tells him someone tried to kidnap her.

At the Reagan house, a new member has joined the team, Cliff Reacher (Mike Colter). Cliff was a former Marine who served with Danny. Erin is unsure about his involvement but Frank insists she listen to the DEA tape. As they are listening to the tape, Henry arrives with lunch and Frank receives a call. He answers and tells the caller to run the ballistic evidence through IBIS to see if the weapons were ever in their system. Cliff tells the Reagan's to make a cross-over comparison he needs a sample of the voice and asks where they want to start. Danny chooses to begin with Malevsky. Erin warns that's a leap but Danny insists Malevsky's name is one that's been leaping up over and over again. Erin can't get a warrant based on the tape they just listened to. Danny doesn't want her to do that and asks Cliff if they can use a call made to the house, which they can. Danny asks his grandfather about a charity he works with and suggests he make a call to Malevsky for a donation. Frank gives his consent and the call is made. As Henry is speaking with Malevsky, Cliff runs the comparison and comes up with a match. Erin still doesn't think they have enough to work with.

At the precinct, Jamie gives Laura Peck (Natalie Knepp) a cup of coffee as he takes her statement. He asks if she knew of anyone who might have a motive to kidnap her. She tells him about her father who was a CEO of a mortgage company and when things went south, thousands of people got slammed but he walked away with millions of dollars scott-free so if you throw a rock in Greater Boston you'll hit someone with a motive. She's in New York for a job interview with a museum in Abu Dhabi.

Danny goes to the Manhattan North Precinct to put a tracker on Malevsky's car and places it behind the drivers side mirror. Malevsky sees Danny and asks what he's doing up there. Danny tells him he came to close a few cases up with one of the detectives working there then they talk about his car a bit before Malevsky mentions the detective Danny said he was there to work with was off that day. Danny said the files would be left on the desk.

Jamie's captain (Robert Turano) asks if he's interested in some overtime and when he says he is he's told he can be stationed outside Laura Peck's hotel room as he had offered her police escort until they had a better assessment of the ongoing threats regarding her attempted kidnapping. Jamie escorts Laura back to her hotel room where he checks the room then asks for a chair to sit in out in the hall. Her phone buzzes but she doesn't feel like talking to anyone and doesn't take the call. He asks her to give him a heads up if she does have a visitor, which she agrees to. After looking at his Harvard jacket she asks which of the teams he's a fan of. He tells her he doesn't follow college ball but he went to school there, something that surprises her. As he's getting ready to go outside the room there is a knock on the door. Laura asks who it is and the visitor identifies himself as Billy. Laura opens the door and she embraces the man who is there. He enters the room and tells her he came the second he heard. She introduces him to Jamie as Billy Coffin (James Snyder) and he comments about her getting a bodyguard. Jamie says he's just a presence at Miss Peck's option. Billy thanks him for being there and Jamie goes out into the hall where he calls his father to ask what they have. Frank tells him they're making progress and have eyes and ears on Malevsky.

Erin tells Cliff if the subjects of the wire go for 30 seconds or longer without saying anything related to the investigation he needs to minimize the wire. Drop in 30 seconds or so later with hopes they change the subject to something they can use later. Cliff comments that's crazy but she tells him it's the law as they can't listen until they get what they are looking for. He says he misses Marine intelligence but Erin is a lot prettier. The phone on the wire rings and Cliff informs them there's an incoming from Malevsky's cell. Malevsky's caller, Damon Camia (Jordan Lage) tells him there's a guy in the scene they didn't know about, a spook and they don't know what law enforcement organization he's with yet. Malevsky asks what they do know and Camia tells him a guy got "Reaganed". Malevsky tells Camia to tell everyone to get ready as they are moving the party up. When the conversation is over Danny hits the table and Frank comments "they gave it Joe's name". Cliff's computer gives him the name Damon Camia and location of Rego Park, Queens. Danny recognizes the name and mentions that both Camia and Malevsky worked in Warrants with Joe. Frank asks what they have. Erin says they still don't have enough for what they want them for. Franks phone rings with a call from Baker. He asks who was the supervisor that signed off on it that day. He thanks her and hangs up and tells them to cover the guys from every possible angle. Cliff gets to working on setting up the tracking as Frank tells Erin to get the necessary warrants on Camia as he's going to see an old friend.

Frank arrives at the home of Gerry and Alice O'Brien (John Speredakos & Becky London). She's happy to see him and, after they exchange pleasantries he asks to see Gerry. When he arrives at the door, Frank asks him to take a walk. They talk briefly about their families until Frank comes out and asks about how on January 9th he signed off on a cache of confiscated weapons as being destroyed but a number of Glock 9's never made the trip to the furnace. He asks who he gave them to. Gerry immediately becomes overwhelmed and Frank gives him ten seconds or no deal. Gerry asks what deal and Frank tells him the only deal that's out there for you and begins to count back from ten. Gerry gives Frank the names Art Buchanan (Shaun Kevlin) and Will Atwater (Mark Armstrong) from Narcotics, Manhattan North. Frank asks if that is it and he says they were the two he dealt with. Frank tells him there's another name, whoever reached out and brought him in in the first place, and that he knows he'll find the match and begins counting back again. Gerry gives him the name Teddy Chapin. Gerry asks what the deal is and Frank replies that he wants his shield and guns on his chief's desk first thing tomorrow and his only pension is whatever he made working his little side deal and he doesn't want to see him at a precinct, a retirement party or even wearing an NYPD ball cap and not a word to anyone. Gerry thanks Frank who then leaves.

At the precinct, Danny speaks with Jackie confidentially to ask her to put a tracker on a guy as the warrant is on the way. She asks if they picked up a case she didn't know about and he tells her he's going to ask her to do something and he knows she won't want to do it. He tells her the guy is on the job and gives her Damon Camia's name. She doesn't want to do the job as it goes against everything she is. He tells her Camia and the Blue Templar killed his brother Joe. Jackie watches from her car as Camia gets into his own. She calls Danny to let him know and says she will stay with him.

Jamie knocks on Laura Peck's door to tell her the room service she ordered has arrived. She invites him in as she ordered enough for them both. Reluctantly, he agrees.

At the house, Cliff has nothing from his end of the operation. Frank wonders how he couldn't see everything and Danny advises him not to go down that road.

Jamie and Laura talk after dinner and he tells her about how he decided to become a policeman instead of a lawyer as he'd planned. As they're talking, her phone rings and she answers it telling Billy she'll call him back in a bit and tells him she loves him. When Jamie gets up to leave and thanks her for dinner she explains that Billy is gay. He tells her his relief should be there any minute and he should get back outside. She stops him asking if he'll be back tomorrow and he says he will if it's assignment. She kisses his cheek then the two kiss. They are interrupted by his replacement who knocks on the door.

Jackie continues to follow Camia. A car pulls out behind her and speeds up to hit the back of her car. It then drives up beside her and hits her car from the drivers side forcing her off the road and her car runs beneath a parked pick up truck. She calls Danny who asks where she's been. She tells him a black SUV followed her from the airport and she thought she lost him but he came up behind her and pushed her off the road. She's fine with just a few bruises from the airbag. She then tells him Camia dropped off his wife and kids at the airport with a lot of luggage. She got close enough to hear him tell them he'd be seeing them in a few days. He asks where Camia is now and she says it looks like he's back at his house but she feels the guys are getting out of Dodge. He tells her to keep her phone on and ends the conversation. Frank doesn't want to wait any longer. He tells Erin he can bring in Buchanan and Atwater for receiving the weapons out of Property and asks about Camia. She says if they assume his wife is traveling with a lot of money they can run the manifests and alert customs on the end and possibly sweat the wife. Danny asks where he should start and Frank tells him Malevsky.

As Jamie is walking home he stops and calls the detective to ask about Laura's case. He speaks with Detective Trotta (Michael J. Burg) and asks if DCPI has released any information regarding the kidnapping attempt. Her father is traveling in Europe and they haven't been able to reach him. They wanted to talk to him before releasing the information and possibly causing a scare among female tourists. Danny calls the hotel to speak with Laura but she doesn't answer her room phone so he turns around and runs back toward the hotel.

Danny finds Malevsky's car parked outside a church. He rings the bell and speaks with Father Duff (John Mainieri) about the car. Malevsky donated it for the church raffle. He dropped the car off about 10 minutes ago. Danny calls Frank to let him know Malevsky dumped his car and is off the grid. Frank tells Danny to go after Buchanan.

Laura and Billy are out walking as Jamie runs up and sees them from across the street. An SUV stops next to Billy and Laura and a man gets out, hits Billy and grabs Laura trying to put her in the car. Jamie runs across the street, yells to the man holding Laura and draws his weapon. He fires, hitting the man. Laura is able to escape and the SUV speeds away from the curb. Jamie cuffs the man he shot and asks Laura if she's alright. Billy says they should get inside but Jamie tells him to stay where he can see him and tells Laura to call 911.

Danny is sitting outside of Buchanan's house talking to Frank. It doesn't appear Buchanan is at home as there are no signs of anyone at the house. As he is telling Frank things don't look good, Buchanan leaves his house and gets into his car. Danny follows him to find out where the party is.

Detective Trotta tells Jamie that Boston PD had both the driver of the SUV and the man Jamie shot in their system. He asks Jamie for a theory and he tells Trotta he suspected Coffin when he first said he came to see Laura as soon as he heard. Coffin could have only heard about it through the men who tried to abduct her. Trotta asks if it was the first time he'd shot anyone and when Jamie says it is, he tells him to enjoy the paperwork. When he's gone, Jamie gets a call from his father. After the conversation, Jamie goes to Laura to tell her he needs to leave as his family needs him. She thanks him and gives him a hug. He tells her if she needs anything he works out of the 12th and to look him up. He continues that if Abu Dhabi doesn't work out they have a lot of nice museums there in New York.

Danny tells Frank that Buchanan just picked up Malevsky at a diner off the BQE and they're back on it heading north. Cliff informs them Atwater and Camia both just got off the BQE just north of the Pulaski Bridge and are on the side streets at Greenpoint. Danny will stay with Malevsky and call in the location. He feels if it's what he thinks it is they'll need backup and it will have to be guys that will actually back them up. Frank assures him he has guys and says Jamie is on his way and orders Danny to wait until he (Frank) arrives. Cliff wishes Frank good luck and tells him he'll coordinate with his driver.

At the party, everyone arrives carrying bags. Malevsky begins passing out the bundles of money to each man at the party starting with Alex Bello. Frank and his team arrive and assemble outside. Frank's trusted officers enter with guns ready ordering the men inside not to move. They all back away from the money or sit down the bundles they are holding. Danny enters gun drawn with Frank coming in last. He tells Alex "you I did not see" and Alex says that getting over on him was maybe the hardest part as Jamie searches and cuffs him. Frank addresses the entire group of men in the Blue Templar. He tells them before he takes thier shields there is a question he wants answered. He asks which one of them killed his son. None of the men answer. Frank walks to the bar and, in a rage, shoves a tray of bottles to the floor. He tells them he'll ask again "who shot my boy". Malvesky speaks up saying just so Frank knows, it isn't like Joe wasn't warned. Frank turns to face Malevsky who walks toward Frank saying 'just like the rookie over here again and again but you people just don't take a hint, do you?'. He tells Frank for what it is worth, he's sorry as it wasn't anything personal against Joe. Malevsky pulls a gun from his coat and puts it under his chin. Frank calmly looks to him and tells him we all die sometime it's just a question of when. Malevsky looks to his friends then kills himself. Danny orders a bus be called and Frank tells him to take their shields and walks from the room.

At Frank's house, before Sunday dinner he tells Danny and Jamie that he hopes they both never have to fire their weapon in the line of duty again. Jamie admits the paperwork is murder and Danny jokes to his father if there isn't something he can do about that as Commissioner. At the dinner table, Frank decides the discussion of who will say Grace by suggesting they all do.

Frank, Henry, Erin, Jamie, Danny and Linda go to the cemetery to pay their respects to Joe. Frank says he likes to think Joe was with them last night as he knows he's always with him.
